I visited recently and was impressed by the authentic Indian flavors, the warm hospitality, and the excellent value for money. The dishes are fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented — exactly what you expect from a top Indian restaurant in Paris. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and the service is fast even during busy hours. Whether you want a classic butter chicken, perfectly spiced biriyani, or delicious tandoori dishes, everything tastes homemade and full of real Indian aromas. If you’re looking for authentic Indian cuisine in Paris 10, or simply the best Indian food near Gare du Nord / Château d’Eau, Old Shalimar is the place to go. 10/10We discovered Old Shalimar during a weekend in Paris and it quickly became our favorite spot for authentic Indian food. The restaurant offers a wide variety of classic dishes like butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, lamb curry, and fresh cheese naan – all full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Portions are generous, prices very reasonable, and the lunch menu is a great value. The staff welcomed us warmly and created a cozy atmosphere. If you’re looking for authentic Indian cuisine in Paris with great service, Old Shalimar is definitely worth a visit!

10/10I’ve eaten at Old Shalimar a couple of times now and it’s quickly become my go-to spot for Indian food in Paris. The dishes actually taste like the ones I’ve had in India – rich flavours, good spices, nothing watered down. Portions are generous without being heavy and prices are fair. The place itself is simple and relaxed, nothing fancy, but the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful which makes the whole experience easy and pleasant. If you’re craving proper Indian food rather than the usual “French-style” curries, this is a solid choice.

9.5/10We are an Indian family staying in the UK. On our holiday in Paris, we were looking for good Indian food and we found it at Shalimar!! The food was great. We had Dal Tadka, Palak Paneer, Vegetable Biryani, Garlic Naan and Mango Lassi. All dishes were well made. The palak paneer stood out. The service was great as well. Would recommend it for fellow travellers!
