10/10Delicious food, excellent, friendly and knowledgable wait staff, great ambience. Went with a family of 4 with a 15 year old and a 12 year old - they ate it all!!!

7.5/10Good service and quick. Good variation of dishes. However, the dishes are not very 'Asian' authentic, having the typical Dutch touch of too much fatty sauces. But that is according to my tase of course ....

9/10We really liked the food at Umami, which was reasonably priced for the quality. The dishes were original and a nice fusion between flavours from differnt countries. The service was certainly not bad, but also certainly not as good as the food quality. The waiters were not too knowledgeable about what was being served. When making a mistake, they were very happy and quick to fix it, and kept us happy. Definitely recommendable if you are looking for something different and can appreciate quality food.

10/10I’ve made reservation for my mom’s birthday and she was stunned as all of us. We all ordered social dining menu. Delicious food and wine, portions were just perfect, dessert was just a cherry on top. Amazing service by young waitress, she explained everything very clearly and she made sure that we have a good time! Thank you for this wonderful experience! Will come back for sure!

About this restaurant
Bij de restaurants van UMAMI by Han draait alles om social dining. Het delen van eten brengt mensen dichter bij elkaar. Dit is een belangrijk uitgangspunt in de Chinese cultuur. Naast zoet, zuur, zout en bitter, wordt umami wetenschappelijk erkend als de vijfde basissmaak. Umami komt voort uit het Japans en betekent letterlijk ‘heerlijke smaak’. Dit omdat de meeste ingrediënten die een hoge hoeveelheid umami bevatten veelal als ‘heerlijk’ worden ervaren. Umami-ingrediënten worden veel in Chinese keukens gebruikt. Denk aan verse zalm, sojasaus, rijstwijn en paddenstoelen. De term is weliswaar niet overal even bekend, maar de smaak kennen wij onbewust al veel langer.
