Reception were not helpful on both visits. Resturante wtafStaff were very nice but clearly understaffed, which seems to be worldwide right now. Views were nice but the terrace lacked any atmosphere, a simple fix is a little music so diners don´t feel the need to sit in silence. Terrace was full of cats.

Excellent restaurant but this is not where it starts: You enter through a chapel, rebuilt to a hotel reception, walks through incredible palace rooms overlooking a wonderful palace garden and a great view.. then met with very friendly staff, guiding you through excellent Portuguese wines perfectly fit for the amazing food. We had a perfectly charcoal grilled shrimps, steak in mushroom sauce and since you can tell that the chef is very competent: We had to taste the deserts. At the time of finishing the fig parfait (ice cream ) in tangy orange cream and chocolate, served with a vintage port it just could not be done better. Atmosphere was so relaxed and calm in old historical surroundings. The bill: Very reasonable prices affording a generous tip that the very friendly staff deserves. Definitely coming back!

Food is ok - best to take something a bit simple. Eg grilled fish was good. Gnocchi with tomato no taste. Think in general they should make more simple food and not try to make i “posh” with Strange combinations of ingredients. Nice waiters. Beautiful place and view.

The restaurant is located in the old part of the Pousada. The entrance is formed by the old kitchen of the palast. the combination of original and very modern architecture and furniture is well done. The service is very attentiv, however could be trained in sevice techniques a little bit more. The menu offers a good choise of Portuguese dishes and the preparation is close to perfection. Products used seem to be of high quality. We had the tenderloin and the octopus – both cooked to perfection. The potato gratin, comming with the meat got to much cream in it and therefore was too heavy to go with the tender meat. Value for money is goog. I recommend this restaurant.

The ambience is very nice and unique. The service was good and alert. We had the two soups. The Algarvian fish soup was rather salty due to bacalau pieces in the soup. Starters were squids and prawns, both very good. Mains were cod and avocado salad. Both not as good. Dessert was very good.

Beware will ask if you would like some bread and olives as your viewing the menu … 8 euros per person later ! Upwelling in a restaurant! Then I asked for a bottle of wine because we all know per glass is more expensive, they gave me glasses which is fine till the waiter poured me a trickle for the second glass. I removed one of the olive and bread charges but for 2 courses starter 8euros and main 20euros wine 20 euros and 2 beers it worked out fine about 30 euros service charge ! felt slightly cheated

The restaurant is located in a stunning little palace. Technically, reservations via the Fork are currently not accepted (hotel guests only), but we were lucky enough to get an exception. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and our visit overall!

They do not utilize your service accurately because they accept reservations from the online service while continuing to book other reservations through other means... what's the point???

Very good food and wine menus. All three courses were delicious, as was the wine. Always lovely atmosphere, i.e. very grown up and sophisticated, in a not too formal way. (Only slight gripe was a couple of the waiters who did not appear to be able to get the wine/water glasses right).

Saturday night was a buffet, and we were disappointed. We found it expensive, and the food not particularly impressive.
