Very well crafted menu and well executed. Very tasty food and with an amazing array of Asian receipes. Lovely cocktail list as well. Wonderful concept overall! One more wait person was needed for the amount of clients that night, or the reservations should have been better staggered to avoid a huge influx at the same hour of 20h. Not sure that the music matches the concept nor the ambiance of the place. Also, the TV screens featuring their other restaurants gets tiring after 30mns. Overall very positive experience.

This place makes me feel so welcomed, has great food, and an interesting menu. They kindly took the time to explain it all to me and help me order. Great drinks too. If you are missing real high quality Asian food (from across multiple Asian regions/countries not just Thai or Chinese alone) whilst in Portugal Thai is the place to go.

Asked the waitress for a dish that had no meat/mushrooms in it. She explained the ingredients in detail and said that the vegetarian ramen had no mushrooms/meat. She brought the dish and asked if I was allergic to mushrooms- I said no. She then told me that the broth is made out of mushrooms and I told her that it literally smells and tastes stronly like mushrooms. She said that it's my fault because I didn't read the menu (she explained the dish in detail so I trusted her and also it didn't say in the menu that the broth was made out of mushrooms).She walked away and came back again saying that it's my fault and asked who's going to pay for it then. At the end, I didn't pay for it but blaming and gaslighting me multiple times was very unprofessional and rude and I definitely wouldn't go back there. I was nice to her and I literally never send dishes back and it made me anxious to speak up for myself,but me and my friend felt attacked and blamed for something that was her fault.

We booked using the Fork app which was advertised as attracting a 30% discount. However the bill came to nearly 100e with the cheapest bottle of wine (about25e from memory). The food was your usual Thai fayre, simple to make in bulk and floral etc which seems to be similar everywhere and should not be expensive. Maybe with the 30e discount it would have just about have been good value but at 100e for two it is mental expensive compared to other local restaurants who use “real” fresh, local ingredients. We won’t be revisiting!

The food was well-prepared. Starters: Asian Bread Couvert, Papadum, Prawn Crackers, and Sweet Chilli were delightful, with balanced seasoning. The prawn crackers were crisp, and the sweet chilli sauce was a well blended of sweetness and heat. Chicken Gyozas: Perfectly cooked, with a delicate balance of flavours. Kimchi Vegetable Gyozas: Good balance of spice and freshness. Pad Thai: Good but slightly oily. Could use more roasted peanuts and kaffir lime as contrast. Tonkotsu Ramen: Rich broth. More meat would enhance it. Prawn Yaki Udon: Satisfying with tender prawns and well-cooked noodles. The dining experience was enjoyable, but the ambiance needs improvement. The background music didn't match the theme and was slightly too loud. Some adjustments are needed to hide visible imperfections such as cables, enhancing the overall aesthetic… Overall, a place to come back for sure!

First-time visit to Monkey in Faro, and I will definitely return! The ambience was warm and lively, with modern music set at just the right volume—enough to enjoy but still easy to hold a conversation. The service was attentive and friendly, and the food was absolutely top-notch, full of authentic flavors and beautifully presented. The only downside was the size of the tables and the overall tightness of the space, which made things feel a bit cramped. However, this didn’t detract too much from the overall experience. An exceptional dining experience overall—highly recommend!
