Our visit was excellent, as ever. Aaron has honed each plate to an exceptional skill level and Patricia’s command of the space is refined and informative. Plus her knowledge of wine ensures a list that will satisfy even the most demanding of palates. Whatever you do, don’t miss out on the Sticky Toffee Pudding, surely the supreme rendition of the amazing palm date.

We had a very memorable and happy dinner here thanks to the combination of great service and great food. Run by a lovely couple, the wife manages the front of house beautifully while her husband cooks up and delivers to the table a individual take on some classic dishes. High quality cooking, very good wine list and at a price that I felt was extremely good value. We will return here for dinner next time we visit Madrid.

Bolboreta is an absolute gem, and I’m so glad we found it. Extraordinary food and wine, beautiful and unique presentation. Many thanks to Patricia, who greeted us warmly and guided us in making what turned out to be perfect choices. We will be back!

A classic romantic restaurant, simply but beautifully decorated for instant ambience. Food is nothing other than stunning with tapas-style plates given an elegant upgrade. From the chicken liver parfait to the pork belly by way of pumpkin soup and beetroot salad, the dishes were impeccable. Too full for desert we had it anyway, with a clever mascarpone and chocolate concoction and a fantastic take on sticky toffee pudding with apple and meadowsweet ice cream. All accompanied by a very reasonably priced and delicious red Tempranillo. A perfect setting for a romantic night out.

We returned to Bolboreta, and enjoyed it just as much the second time. If you like the food quality, originality and technique of Michelin lauded restaurants, but prefer to avoid the formality and prices, this is the place.

+1The restaurant is tastefully decorated and exudes a warm and welcoming atmosphere. There are noise deadening panels strategically placed on the ceiling, making conversation easy, not the usual thing in Madrid restaurants, where echo can make intimate chats difficult. Front of house is looked after by Patricia, who is excellent at describing the dishes and is also a seriously talented sommelier, so your choice off wine is made easy. The wine list is one of the strong points of this restaurant. Patricia has selected some of Spain’s best at very affordable prices. You can generally eat very well in Madrid but it’s not so easy to drink well. Here you can do this with astonishing ease. Aaron is a truly talented chef and I augur a great future for any gastronomic venture he is involved in. He cut his teeth in the tough world of high end cuisine in London. Then he worked in Michelin starred eateries in Madrid, His food is simply exceptional and so very imaginative. You have to try it.
