7.5/10+1Great experience- very creative chef and amazing use of local produce. Presentation was exceptional. The use of local veggies was top class- it’s a divine experience for vegetarians. The staff is very knowledgeable and polite but service very slow. One disappointment: we got charged for something that we didn’t order. I am sure it was a mistake but sadly the said that they couldn’t immediately reverse it! Hopefully, they will.

9.5/10Wonderful experience at Bolenius with a tasting menu combining incredibly cooked tasty vegetables and surprising experiences with meat. And the wine pairing was simply perfect. Thanks for the unique experience !

10/10+1Many thanks to Luc and Jop for the excellent service on our long evening of over 4 hours in your restaurant! We (couple) both had the Special Michelin TheFork menu and got the Signature Dish (fish dish) in addition to our 6 courses. All courses were prepared with fresh herbs and vegetables from your own garden. Especially the Plantbased menu was exceptional in its combination. Taste-wise, everything was very well coordinated and only one course had a taste surprise with light smoke flavors and spiciness. Whether this fit into the combination of courses is a matter of individual taste. Overall, the arrangement of the dishes was very nice and appealing to look at, which definitely had a positive impact on the taste experience. There were only a few small things to criticize in the high-quality star cuisine, so the degree of cooking of the beans was not optimal and individual menu components had already been arranged for a longer time, so the molds and crackers were a little too soft and therefore no longer crispy, the espresso at the end for 9.95 € was tasty okay, but clearly too cold - but as I said, these were only small things at a very high level. The wine accompaniment and selection by Jop was very good and also the explanations of the wines were top and fit perfectly with the individual courses.

7/10The staff was friendly and very accommodating when I first arrived. The atmosphere was relaxing and calm. It was lovely for staff to carefully explain the ingredients for each dish. I enjoyed the appetizers at the start as well as the side dish (bread, home-made spread, olive oil and salt). I really liked the sweet wine but for €10 for each small quantity which was not even half a glass was really expensive. The second dish (tomato, rhubarb and herbs) was average because of a strange smell from the cherry tomatoes which I could not comprehend but it was just me. The fifth one (Roebuck) was not up to my liking and I felt the flavor was not well mixed. In addition, the crunchy bites were not very accurate for this dish. The dessert which I liked the ice cream mixed the waffles together with the sweet caramel but the chocolate balls were not a good addition because they were dry, which could ruin my tasting. Overall, I am satisfied with my evening but I hope this improves a bit better.

3.5/10The food is visually stunning, but not tasty. And extremely expensive. The “green” aspect seems to be: take the most humble ingredient (parsnip, beet) costing 25 cents, add nothing to it, work on it gastronomically for 10 hours, then charge a fortune for it. Our watermelon main course was literally inedible. Only bright spots: respectable service, respectable wine list. Don’t be misled by the “Dutch cuisine” hype or the eco-hype. You’ll do far more for the Earth by spending $200 for a fabulous dinner at a traditional Dutch restaurant and donating the extra $500 to an ecological organization.

8/10+3The food was imaginative, brilliant, masterful and truly one of the most memorable meals I've had in Europe. The letdowns were the overly-casual staff, the somewhat lackadaisical placement of the silverware between courses (sometimes it was crooked, sometimes it was placed down loudly, as if the server was annoyed), and the overall ambience/decor of the restaurant being pleasant, but not especially luxe or curated. Obviously, the food is the star of the show and it excelled in that respect, but I was hoping/expecting a Michelin restaurant to show the same level of care in the front-of-house elements as well.

10/10Bolenius was a treat from start to finish. The staff was warm, welcoming, and instructive, the 6 course menu was both adventurous and delicious--and especially admirable from a local production standpoint--and the ambiance was cozy yet bright. Highly recommend.
