the fresh bread and pasta were good. so was the tagliere platter. The rabbit dish however, was inconsistent. supposed to be a stuffed roll of some sort, all three of us ordered it and we got three different dishes...some got just the roll, some the stuffing, one both.

The food was great as wells the atmosphere and service. We had a large group of 8 people, and the restaurant owner went to great lengths to make sure we had a good experience. I would highly recommend!

The Waitress was nice enough, but she forgot to serve a dish we had ordered. Offered to bring it after dessert. The bread was sub par and we had to ask for olive oil. Tue food was okay. The place was empty at 8 pm.

This was our first time at this beautiful restaurant and we were not disappointed. Service was friendly and prompt, the food was fantastic and the chef/ owner was personable. We will be back!

A friendly welcome and delicious food - some of the best we have had in Umbria. An imaginative menu, slightly different to the normal one. Highly recommended.

We discovered this restaurant thanks to Tucci in Italy's sublime series on the kitchen of every of the 20 regio's of Italiy. Chef Valentina stars in the Umbria episode. We were keen to discover her famous pigeon recipe, but forgot that this is of cours a winter meal. We tried the rabbit and the wonderful ravioli's. We had a delightful, delicate lunch. Chef Valentina and her staff are wonderful. Perfect, friendly service

Attractive room (too chilly for patio which has great view of piazza) comfortable seating, prompt, friendly helpful service. Limited wine list. Very good rabbit. Other dishes were perfectly acceptable, but nothing special.

Fresh takes on Italian classics. Rather than generic “roasted vegetables,” we had ratatouille, imaginatively stretched to include fennel and carrots and PERFECT with fresh herbs sprinkled on the veggies. We followed up with an asparagus risotto that tasted like spring made edible. We finished with the Pavlova that was both beautiful and delicious. We were so happy with our dinner that we went back the next day for a delicious lunch. The staff was friendly and skillful, the decor inspiring with local art and historic tufa stones.

This is a mandatory restaurant for us to visit it Orvieto, and Italy. It is one of the reasons we come here. Food, wine and service are reliably wonderful. Very welcoming!

Capitano del Popolo, in Orvieto’s Piazza del Popolo away from the tourist hub around the Duomo, serves marvelous food in a friendly, casual setting. Handmade pastas were superb. An Umbrian wine recommended to us was both superb and a remarkable value. Highly recommended!

Please come here for the excellent Umbrian dishes and the welcoming, friendly staff. They play (dinner) music too which is a nice change from the quiet, traditional ristorante.

The creativity & flavors of the 5 items we selected and enjoyed, were some the best, if not the best that we have consumed during our 2 months in Italy. Very good & not heavy handed. Lentils & beans! Rabbit! Artichoke, traditional! Bread salad! Finocchio Cacio e pepe perfect! Thank you!!

There was a very large party next to us that got very loud and our waiter was happy to move us to another table, best carbonara I've EVER had!!
