We immediately understood that this restaurant was built for TikTok and to accommodate a high volume of guests. The servers were kind and efficient, but almost mechanical in their extreme level of efficiency. We felt like we were in a well-oiled culinarily factory. The interior was intense and each room overwhelming in its decor. Like wine bottles? Let’s make a dining room with thousands of them on the wall! Like plates? Let’s cover an entire room with plates! Very photogenic — even cinematic — but far from intimate. Felt like I was on a photography set. Menus on cell phones did the expected. Everyone was on their cell phone. The food might have been amazing, but I don’t really remember it, given the mechanized feel of the experience.
