Steak was well done for a medium rare, ratatouille was slightly cold, cocktail was more mint than any ginger or lime in it, service was a bit slow, keeping in mind that restaurant had only two busy tables including mine, restaurant wasn’t aware of my The Fork reservation, as host said that restaurant preferred to use other app for reservations. Host didn’t even bother to sign me in.

My wife and I celebrated her birthday here at the recommendation of a good friend--the service was fantastic, in the garden the cool breezes off the Seine were perfect, and we took an album of pix of the food presentation which did not disappoint!

Service was great but food was so disappointing, we didn’t finish our dinners and did not stay for dessert. Evidently this restaurant has been rebranded to appeal to “Everyman” prices lowered, selections reduced and food “commoditized”. Specifically, braised leeks wer too tough and tasteless to eat, bread was stale and my fish/rice dinner was unappetizing (rice was sticky, fish compressed) - really very bad. I’ve been to this restaurant twice in the past 8 years (when I fly to Paris) but was embarrassed to bring my friend this time. I’m sorry to say I won’t be returning.

We expected to have a romantic dinner in this restaurant. But everything went wrong since we got there. First they did not have our reservation, then they put us in the worse table possible, right next to the bus station. The waiters were very noise and seen like very lost in what need to be done. The food was another disappointment, very flat and expensive. Anyway, maybe we would have a different experience if we had sat in a different table, but the food was not good. My husband pasta was like eating a rubber and my fish was cold with no taste.

Another great meal at Chez Julien. The food and atmosphere was excusons the room beautiful. The service was not as seamless as I recall from previous visits. Nonetheless, I will return.
