Beautiful place. Good service. Problem with choice of starters. Nothing hot and mostly vegetarian. Set menu choices poor. Overall too expensive. No longer great value for money. Disappointed with the menu. Lis Orto was much better and good value for money. Dolce Provenza doesn’t work for us.Not sure we will return. A real shame.

DearClive Brothers,
Thank you for your feedback. While we’re pleased you appreciated the setting and service, we regret that our menu did not meet your expectations.
Our cuisine is inspired by the Provençal terroir, with a focus on seasonal and plant-based creations. We understand it may not suit all tastes and are sorry for your disappointment.
We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again for a different experience.
Warm regards,
Audrey JORGE - General Manager

We have been coming to St. Paul de Vence for over 30 years. We dined at LaTable la Pierre a few years ago and thought it didn’t deserve the prices being charged. We thought, given the name “bistro lis Orto” This would be more of a casual bistro with prices, service, and food to match. Not really. We had to wait for our wine to be served. Then had to wait an hour and a half for the main course to be served after we finished our entrée 45 minutes earlier. We were not impressed with the food. The sauce for the volaille tasted a bit acrid and it was undercooked.
On the other hand, the setting was beautiful, the service was polite and the entertaining guitar vocalist was terrific.

Beautiful decor and setting in a 5-star hotel. The bistro is a good idea for those who want quality without pomposity. It sits nicely beside the main hotel restaurant which is more formal and fussy. The only negative point in our experience was the cost of aperitifs which were ridiculously expensive. At 24€ each I would hesitate to order one again. It did feel like we were taken for fools.

Stunning quality bistrot food! Starters were spectacularly tasty respecting Provençal cuisine. Main were generous and desserts very "gourmand"! Landscape, atmosphere and view worth it! Would recommend to all my friends for lunch! (have not tried in the evening!)
