10/10Fantastic home made burger with the most amazing truffle potatoes! Very small quaint little restaurant, family run with good food! I would definitely come again!

2.5/10We traveled to France for one evening and two days for my birthday. Looking for a nice and cozy spot for birthday dinner it was a lot of pressure to pick the „perfect“ one out of all these choices. I saw this restaurant which was very good rated and had a small and familiar touch, which I love and like to support. So we reserved a seat and walked there. After 30 minutes we reached the restaurant and have been very excited to get there. It was as cozy how I imagined it. The server didn’t had a table ready yet which was completely fine, so he told us, that he is going to clean it right away for us. We then sat down had the used glasses and napkins from other people between us for around 20 minutes. It can happen that a server forgets about that, I didn’t wanted to let that ruin my mood. So I tried in the mean time to pick a meal and drinks in the hope, that when he serves our drinks, he will get rid of the old ones. There have been no menu or drink cards on the table so I got some from the bar by myself. We picked two cocktails. It took like another 10 minutes (another group of people came later than us and already got their drinks) until we have been able to order the drinks. Even after ordering the service guy didn’t took the old glasses and napkins away, I needed to tell him again. Also not a problem, he had a lot of work this evening, so that could happen. My boyfriend already got a little mad (he worked as a server in America a few years) but I was still excited and once again didn’t wanted to ruin my birthday dinner. We as well wasn’t given any kind of menu card given so we tried online to figure out the menu and picked something in the meantime until the server came with the drinks. He came back and told my boyfriend that his choice of drink is unfortunately out but he will bring us a wine to make up for that. He didn’t asked for or offered other options to my boyfriend. As well he forgot what my drink choice was, so I told him again- still every nice and sweet and understanding. Finally my mojito came, which was looking completely different then I know a mojito and from the group that came after us. It was a small glass (the local group next to us had the normal big mojito glasses), no brown sugar and instead of green lemons and herbs there was just yellow citrones in it. I asked him if he got me the wrong one. He said he will bring me a new one, so he took it back and brought me the same one again and told me, that unfortunately he was out of the ingredients (unfortunate because the other group that came after us served before us seemed to got the last „real“ mojitos, but oh well…). So far so good, still smiled it away while my boyfriend already was fuming. Another table of englisch speaking clients also had their hassle on the other table, so I just assumed that the worker is maybe new and just in a little bit of stress. When the bigger group asked for the menu he gave the menu table at first to us, which was nice. But still no wine that was promised to make up for the inconveniences or no other choice of drink for my boyfriend asked, so we just ordered a easy to make whiskey coke. It came a small glass with a little bit of whiskey and a few minutes later the coke on the side. He asked later if we want ice, but we declined that to make it easier on him. Then it came to ordering the dinner. We figured out, that the menu online was not the one, which was offered in the restaurant. Also not a big problem for us, he explained the different options so I decided for a starter and me and my boyfriend decided for the main menu and I also wanted to get a dessert. He asked us if we want the starter the same time or before. I told him before would be good. Then I asked for my menu if they can leave out the olives, I asked that twice and my boyfriend also summarized that on the end. My boyfriend ordered a T-bone steak in medium well. The server told us, that the menu comes with sides as well and explained the different options. So we picked normal fries for my boyfriend and potatoes for me. After around 20 minutes (we already have been in the restaurant for over one hour to this time) the menu came. The starter was not there, but I got (surprise, surprise ;)) olives in my meal. I told him, that I ordered without but I didn’t wanted to risk him to dump the chicken and wait for a new one so I told him it’s fine, I just pick them out by myself. My boyfriend got his T-bone steak (angus) for 26€, which turned out competely bloody. He said he would still eat it but wasn’t happy about it. Then he tried cutting it. Literally 85% of the steak have been fat. He was not even able to chew on it. So he just put his plate to the side and told the server that this is not what he expected for that price. The server just looked at it and said: oh yeah, okay, I am sorry. My chicken (besides the olives ;)) was very good. I liked it a lot. I offered it to my boyfriend but he was done with everything at this point. We waited another 10 minutes until I got up from my chair to ask for the sides (potatoes and fries), which should have come, like the name already says, on the side of the main menu. The server said, that they are already done and he brings them now. Another 15 minutes later he asked if all is okay, I told him, that we still wait for the sides but now, that we already finished the meal, he doesn’t need to bring them anymore, because that defeats the whole purpose of a side and we didn’t wanted to eat dry potatoes. That was the point where I also started being a „little bit“ disappointed of about the service quality. If there is too much stress (the restaurant itself though was not big, a lot of people already left) and I feel as a server that I get confused, why don’t I just write the orders down? It’s not that hard. So I told him, that its okay, but we obviously don’t want to pay for the sides that we don’t need now anymore. He said he will bring them anyways, because they are a part of the meal and ready for us. We said one more time we don’t need them anymore. But he still brought one side out, while the other one for my boyfriend never came. Then I asked where the starter is, because obviously that’s what should come before the main menu. He was sorry and said it comes, which it did, when we already have been nearly finishing the main menu. The starter was good but then already cold. Then we asked for the bill. They wanted to tax us in full. My boyfriend then got up to ask for how we can get taxed fully for both of the sides which we just got one of (and even that too late) and after we didn’t even wanted that anymore, for the wrong cocktail and a peace of meat, that was not even eatable or chewable, also a starter which came after the main menu and was cold. We didn’t even expected the full meal for free (even though I felt that this would have been the least they could have done for us after this disappointment). But from the 80€ full price we should have to pay at least 55€ (for the steak which was more than disgusting and not able to be eaten). The server told us that he is sorry for not telling us, that the steak would be more fat but the chef would get mad on his mistakes and in the end he, as a new employee which just works there for 2 weeks, would need to pay out of his one pocket for that. My boyfriend felt sorry and told him, that this was the fault of the chef, when the meat quality is not good, but the worker said that his boss makes him still pay out of his own pocket and he really doesn’t have the money. So in the end I payed for the full price. The server said again he is sorry and he hopes we come back another time. In the mean time the boss talked to the local group on the other table and was not even interested in us. I am sorry to say that, but this was by far the worst restaurant experience that I had in my life. My boyfriend is a professional athlete and we travel and eat a lot outside of the country so I can compare a lot of other restaurants to this experience. The worst thing is, that I felt that they didn’t even care about that at all. It is just very sad that I picked this restaurant for this special event. I unfortunately can not recommend this restaurant at all. If it would just be the new overwhelmed server, but after he told me that his boss makes him pay out of his own pocket so that’s why we need to pay in full even though he knows that this was his and his bosses mistake… for me that is a big red flag and I will never come back again.

10/10Tiny restaurant that gave us one of the best meals on our trip. Owner cook waiter and dishwasher—one busy and efficient guy! Delicious appetizers of crustini tomato and roasted cheese. For dinner we had the roast beef, crusted chicken and “family burger”. Each was outstanding. Beautiful presentation. Desserts were chocolate cake (lava cake for us Americans), parfait of whipped cream Oreos and raspberries, and plums sautéed in sugar caramel sauce. Fresh whipped cream was so good. But the plums were a revelation. Never had them and they were amazing. Service was also fast. If you’re in the 15th Arr search for La Famille et Cie.

9.5/10Service was really great, we were early and the staff was happy to have us. No qualms about food allergy and happily accommodated my request. Food was awesome too. Other than the place being colder than we expected, everything about this quaint gem was wonderful. Would highly recommend.
