Food, atmosphere, very friendly personal, not expensive

The food was alright, but I was really uncomfortable when they brought a bill and, because my husband sounds American, the waitress was very adamant that service was not included, which in France we know it is and tip is discretionary, specially for a small party of two adults and one child. When we told her we were not American, we are Irish she wanted to dissappear because she knew we knew she was trying to scamm us. I tipped, and I was going to tip anyway but I felt I was trying to be scammed at.

The waitress was kind and very busy. Our meals were good. Conversing with neighboring tables made for an enjoyable evening.

Le Baribal is a traditional French bistrot. Very nice atmosphere and good food. I use to go there relatively often for lunch, as it offers a menu and two dishes of the day that have very interesting ratios quality/price.

We came in as a group of 4 planning to celebrate a big work week. The lady who greeted us was very nice and welcoming. However, we were at this restaurant for 3 hours and in that time, the waiter only visited our table twice, which required us to wave him down. We had all planned to order drinks, starters, mains, and dessert, but we ended up with just drinks and a starter in that time. The tables around us were well attended to, but we were ignored. I guess, if you're a native French speaker, you'll have no problem and you can enjoy the experience here. I've heard only good things, so our time was a true disappointment. I won't return but I'll leave it to others to decide for themselves if they would like to visit and give it a try.

The service here was amazing! The serving sizes were actually large. The server was so kind and made his recommendations for wine and it matched perfectly with out dinner. We speak english and he accommodated us and spoke English. He refilled our waters numerous times. The food was amazing, I had the duck with honey and it was delicious. Then I had the creme brulee for dessert and it was so good. I will definitely go here again!

Le Baribal is one of the best bistrots in the neighborhood and probably the one with the best quality/price ratio at lunch time, especially if you take the menu of the day (there is always an option of two main dishes plus starter and dessert if you want). It has also some tables outside when the weather is good.

Real French restaurant, friendly people, good local dishes and genuine local customers. We appreciated the food, the wine and the kindness of the owners. A real good experience. Suggested.
