What a gem ! The place is charming and intimate. There i a bar to hang out at, should be noted , if you feel like a drink with locals. In the rear is a lovely dining area. The wine list is curated and excellent. The food was creative and delicious, perfectly cooked grilled squid. I will return to try their other food dishes. Wonderful !

A small romantic authentic restaurant with surprisingly good food. Slightly on the heavier side but not greasy or fatty. Delicious in other words. A good place to take a date. Not in the heart of the Marais and therefore not touristy. Open on a Monday. We had to wait 10 minutes before our table was ready (after the booked time), but once we ordered the food arrived promptly. Service was courteous. Price for main course was fair (we didn’t have starters and frankly it would have been too much).

This is a lovely little neighborhood spot - lovely ambiance and the tables are not too crammed together. The food was delicious! Menu written on a chalkboard and the waiter was very patient with our terrible French and spoke impeccable English as well!

The husband and wife owners really make this place. He works the bar and the tables while she slaves behind in the kitchen. This is my second time here and I will definitely go back again!

Le Chanard is a tiny gem of a neighborhood restaurant in the Marais. Run by a husband and wife team - she handles the kitchen, he manages the front of the house - the place was packed with locals, including the lively, buzzy bar. The menu changes based on market availability and you can taste the freshness in the food. The chef takes a creative approach to her preparations - our meal was superb. I enjoyed a frisée salad with lardons and a perfectly poached egg, as well as a fantastic pan fried scallops dish with a chorizo cream sauce. They also had a varied an interesting wine list - including multiple wines by the glass, although we shared a bottle! My husband enjoyed a warm lentil soup topped with foie gras (fantastic!) and a wonderful fresh perch dish. I can't wait to return to this delightful restaurant when we visit Paris again.

Superb food, perfectly cooked and well presented. 3 of us has clams, bacon salad, and hare terrine to start. Followed by braised beef, perch and guinea fowl for mains. Attentive, considerate service by one owner who's other half was the excellent chef! Very reasonably priced for what we had, will certainly return when next in le marais.

The restaurant is clearly very intimate run by a husband and wife team-she’s the chef. The service and attention to detail was top notch and the food was glorious. We were guided to an excellent wine to pair with our lamb. A memorable evening

The food was amazing! The ambience was cozy and inviting. Felt like spending an evening in their home. And the soundtrack in the background was superb! Would absolutely recommend to friends and family. We will be returning as soon as possible.

Creative menu, accommodating host, great vibe. My 2 dinner companions don't speak French fluently, so were very happy to see the menu board in English as well. A nice touch.

Lovely place on side street, nice atmosphere, food delicious, great foie gras starter and haddock main. One man front of house doing it all. Service slowed a bit towards the end of meal as small bar in front was busy as well. Great choice in Marais.
