4/10Upon arrival my wife and I were “greated” by “ the owner”. Subsequently, the mere fact that I was Anglophone ( my wife is Francophone) subjected me to demeaning, belittling, condescending treatment. It was not what was said, but rather the tone and non verbal actions that were conveyed by this man. Background note: My grandfather died at the Battle of Juno. If Canadian troops, who surprised the Allies and the Axis in their ingenuity to break the Atlantic Wall, were treated in this manner by the French people 9 miles inland- they would have gone home. Remember this please: I would be very grateful to Parlez Francais, but never had a realistic opportunity.
