This was such a disappointment. A chef may have put this menu together at some point, but they appear to have left the building. There's something about 'Portobello' as opposed to just - big flat mushroom, which conjures up warm juiciness. No. Fresh from the fridge about 30seconds after I ordered, slathered in a mountain of what looked like and had the temperature of snow. Nothing can give off any flavour at these temperatures. The bread was stale. Then came one of the most unpleasant things I've ever eaten, and it was in the other hand of the waiter who pounced to remove my first course. Someone behind that wall is a dab hand with a freezer and a microwave. "Fregola Sarda with mussels, cockles, dill-parsley marine emulsion". I was hungry so I picked out and ate the 9 small mussels. The 'emulsion' looked and had the aroma of something that lingered on a holiday beach when the tide recedes. The waiter made no acknowledgment of the fact that I'd hardly eaten as he removed my plate.

Chère Eleanor, Merci d'avoir partagé votre avis. Je suis désolé que votre expérience n'ait pas été satisfaisante. Concernant le "Portobello", nous le servons froid car il s'agit en effet d'une entrée froide. Nous croyons fermement que cela fait partie de son caractère, même si cela peut ne pas convenir à tout le monde. Pour le pain, nous veillons à le récupérer frais deux fois par jour. Je suis désolé qu'il n'ait pas été à la hauteur cette fois-ci, mais cela ne reflète pas notre standard habituel. Quant au "Fregola", je comprends que les goûts peuvent varier, mais il me semble que votre critique est quelque peu excessive. Nous respectons votre opinion, mais nous avons également la conviction que notre cuisine mérite d’être appréciée pour le travail qu’elle représente.

We had a really nice evening with great food and wine :) the staff was super sweet and special wishes were no problem! We will definitely come back!
