10/10This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. We walked into a very restaurant with friendly wait staff. They helped explain the Portugues dishes and helped with our selections. The food was excellent. I had the tuna and my wife had the an authentic dish seafood dish. After we ordered the worst chocolate cake ever. No seriously that is name on the menu. It was a very good cake. This a fantastic place with good atmosphere.

10/10Dinner for Family of five. Booked a few days ahead as a very popular restaurant. Really authentic Portuguese food, excellent and friendly service and lovely atmosphere. The steak in garlic sauce was cooked perfectly, absolutely delicious!

10/10Would recommend to anyone who visits Lisbon - the seafood portions are generous and well priced, if not a deal! The wait staff is friendly and kind. Well worth a reservation and a visit! Loved the Cataplana seafood platter and the tuna steak plate was delicious.

8/10Person, who knows bit more about real portuguese cuisine I must say that generally food was ok but nothing more. First of all, seems chef has bad day with salt. Food had no spices no salt- quite pale... Octopus Lagareiro style: octopus itself was soft, which is super nice, but where is no oil in the dish. It was dry. Not real Lagareiro. Vegetable soup - consistense nice, zero salt. Bacalhau a Bras - really nice but again- no salt, bit lack of taste. All in all it is s good place , food quality is really ok, but definetely lack of charm in the food.

9.5/10This small restaurant was a pleasant find on a family trip we took about 8 years ago. In addition to the excellent food (I always order the Polvo a Lagareiro), great location, excellent service for a fair price. Every time we go to Lisbon I make a point of having lunch there. Highly recommend!

9.5/10We really loved the restaurant and the food. Flavour is the best thing there, we had gazpacho and cataplana, which was very tasty and we the amount was very generous too. The restaurant is very well known that you need to be lucky to find a table. I will come back definitely.

7.5/10The fado and ambience of the place was fairly nice but the food was mediocre and the portion sizes were way too small. We got the bruschetta which was two quarter sized pieces of toast and the duck which was also only a few bites of food. Came hungry and left hungry.

6.5/10Lost its charm. Just another tourist place. Staff is inexperienced. Food is just okay. No big deal. Used to be extraordinarily good. Not worth the hassle to get and keep a reservation

7.5/10Nice outdoor seating. Staff was friendly and our server recommended a drink with lemmoncello. It was delicious. Our diners were fine too, we did try to return for our last night but there was no reservations available.

10/10I do not know about other days but booking is essential for a Friday night. At 6:30pm a line of reservation holders formed in front of the restaurant and when it opened all tables were taken in minutes. A longish queue of hopefuls assembled along the street soon afterwards. My wife and I had an excellent meal of Cogumelos Paris A Bulhao Pato and Pica Pau De Atum for starter followed by Cataplana De Marisco E Lagosta for two and complemented by Reserva do Comendador white. A delicious almond tart with egg jam and port was a great final touch. The service was efficient and unobtrusive. I highly recommend Maria Catita but please remember to book in advance!
