10/10For over 40 years I have been dining at Monte Mar. I am a big fan of this restaurant. Apart from excellent food and service, I enjoy very much the setting by the sea. The atmosphere is very good, the arrangement of the tables spacious, therefore you can have a good conversation, without being disturbed by your neighbours.

8/10It had been a while since we last visited Monte-Mar in Cascais. The atmosphere remains refined and the service attentive, but the food this time left us a bit underwhelmed. The dishes were simple and nicely presented, yet they lacked the depth of traditional Portuguese flavors we expected. Even the appetizers, desserts, and bread didn’t quite stand out. Overall, it was a pleasant meal, but not as memorable as we had hoped for from such a well-regarded restaurant.

10/10Great views, and consistently (I have been there many times for the last ten years) great food and very friendly and efficient service. Surprisingly for a fish and seafood restaurant, they serve arguably the best calf liver dish in the Lisbon / Cascais area.
