The owner/ manager and all servers are very friendly and accommodating. We had a reservation but the table was beside two family with young kids… changing a diaper at the table and playing drums with the dishes. I decided to go elsewhere. They found us a better located table. Food is delicious and great view of the ocean. This is our second time in 3 days. Highly recommend. Staff great sense of humour and nice to chat with. +1The restaurant was supposed to be open at 7 pm but we had to wait outside til 715. The menu was a bit uninformative. Didn’t describe the sidedishes. There were some extra sides so that one would think you have to buy them separately. Nevertheless the food was very good and service was swift and polite.

Beautiful setting on the Cascais cliffs. Friendly owners. I very much enjoyed the entrecôte and the almond tart.

This was our second time back at Os Prazeres da Carne. I returned with high hopes as the view and ambience is great. Unfortunately the exact same scenario repeated itself as on the first visit. I ordered my steak medium, and explained to the server that I do not want there to be blood on the plate. When the steak arrived and I cut it open, blood poured onto my plate. It simply indicates that the steak was not rested after taking it off the grill. We called the server and explained it politely and carefully: he responded rudely with ‘I don’t know what you want’. To be clear: there was no language barrier as my partner also explained this in Portugese. He removed my plate and returned it with a completely overcooked steak that tasted like shoe-sole. I attach a picture for reference. The exact same scenario happened on our previous visit. It is regrettable that a restaurant that prides themselves on meat is not able to prepare it properly. We will not return.

returning customers for many many years. one just can not go wrong there. meat always, and i mean always, of perfect quality, which is not a given in many portuguese restaurants. location frankly there isnt anything better. sufficient staff who are clearly house trained, even if the place is full they remain attentive. question of organisation. try it out, u'll like it.
