While I am fond of the food (my two meals there have been very tasty) and ambience (elegant but not ostentatious) what really makes O Bistro stand out is the quality of its staff - to a person, they are clearly invested in the quality of your experience.

This is a decidedly upscale replacement for the simpler Portuguese restaurant at this location. The emphasis is more on French cuisine as a true Bistro, with ingredients, sauces, techniques, and - well - prices that you'd expect at a French bistro. But it delivers on its promises despite the upgrade to the bill (e.g., minimum €7 for a glass of wine, even Portuguese wine). My one major complaint is the automatic service charge (7%), or gorjeta, added to your bill. Portuguese locals hate this practice, as we've managed to avoid the American bad habit of tipping culture. Round up if you feel the service was worth it. But please do not encourage owners to shortchange paying the wait staff expecting tips, nor force the habits of tourists in other countries on the restaurant economy for locals who may make a €850 a month minimum wage.

Could be better if... more variety was to be incorporated in the wine list. Current selection is a bit over priced.
