Chill, welcoming and affordable, Sumaya is an easy-going Lebanese food restaurant located between the Principe Real and Rato area. The food options are mostly popular Lebanese/Middle east dishes and the prices are fair. My kafta was good, although i wish the meat serving size was a bit more generous. Payed 20€ with The Fork 30% discount and was midly pleased altough not particularly impressed. Worth visiting for the cool ambience and the traditional lebanese dishes that they do with a certain quality.

Our experience unfortunately was very bad in Sumaya. The food was good but portions are small, some stuff was great, some stuff was just avg. felafel was dry, baba ganoush was great, humus was just okay and so on. But what bothered us was the service, this was our experience so might not be yours but service was so bad to a level we felt it was rude, seemed like staff were not caring, I had to ask multiple times for things, when food would arrive just kinda dropped on the table, at the beginning we thought it was a one off but same thing with other dishes there was a phone next to the table ringing all the time and no one would pick up. and for payment the amount was wrong, the staff didnt chexk, I saw and asked to be corrected and she turned around and came back after 10 min giving the same thing with amount wrong I say it again,, I give my NIF which was never put in the system, and they weren’t busy at all. At the end the service ruined our experienc

Food was flavorful, but the whole place smells of cooking when you leave your saturated in the smell of the grilling

The food was nothing extraordinary. The portions were very small for the price you pay. The brunch option i chose (traditional Lebanese breakfast) was not possible to eat for me. It was too sour from lemon juice and it had plenty of raw garlic. The staff kindly agreed to change the option. I chose the omelet with halloumi cheese. It was good but nothing special tbh. For me it is not the place to come back.

The food and service was amazing. There are some rooms more cosy then others, but still a very pleasant experience.

The food was delicious, fresh, and amazingly seasoned. The falafel, schwarma, and hummus alone were enough to return, but the pomegranate cheesecake set it over the top. The Ismalye was also very good.

Lovely Lebanese restaurant with a wonderful solution for four friends. They offer an assorted menu for four people that was enough for all of us.. The terrace was quieter than the inside which had music playing. The staff was young and cheerful, which was great. I recommend booking in advance, it is an highly touristic part of town.

Overall, I really enjoyed the experience.

The food and drinks were good enough, but the service and dining experience was a mess. The menu is only via QR code so it took some time to scroll this PDF menu on our phones. A paper menu would be much preferred. We ordered two mezze items as starters and two main courses for after. However they brought out all the food at once! We had made a reservation for dinner and did not want to be done eating in 20 minutes. I tried to explain and they took away just one of the main plates for when we were ready (no apology). Both the main course wrap and the shish plate could use sauce as they were a bit dry. Typically tahini or garlic or even piri piri. The cocktails were excellent but they never asked if we wanted another. Also some children were playing near the bar (just a few tables away) as a family were waiting for a takeaway order. Overall a disappointing dining experience which was very surprising given the location in the trendy Principe Real neighborhood.

The food tasted really good. We ask the “mess Beirut “ for 2 people but was enough for three. The employees were kind and the space well decorated .

It was wonderful little place with a thoughtful interior and great food. our server (girl with short hair, we are terrible with remembering names) was great and helpful even though she her english was not fluent. we spent our new years eve dinner here and since it is close from barrio alto, you are not far away from vibrant night life of lisboa. we took a menu to share for 2 people called mesa beirut and food was light and tasty ,with price point around 42 euros which we thought was fair enough to the portion and variety . If you want to try something different in lisboa from usual italian or portuguese food then definitely a place to be. Highly recommended
