My husband and I celebrated for our anniversary at the restaurant and sat at the bar. The experience was phenomenal, the food delicious and we appreciated all the knowledge shared about the wine and sake pairing we got with our tasting. I can’t wait to go back.

I had lunch at Akabeko on Thursday 07 December 2023. This lunch was absolutely fabulous. First, i have been to more 2 and 3 star restaurants than i can easily count including Guy Savoy Paris, Taillivent Paris, Maison Rostang Paris, Le Bernardin New York, Bareiss Restaurant Baiersbronn Mittletal, Paul Bocuse Lyon, Petit Nice Marseilles, etc, etc. so i know a good one when i see it. Akabeko is absolutely equal to any of those i listed above. Look for this place to get a star when the next version of the red guide comes out. You get a choice between 3, 5 or 7 courses, I took the 5 with the wine pairings. Everything was perfect, There is a precision of cooking and balance of flavors at this restaurant that is absolutely fabulous. A while back there was a similar restaurant in Paris, 1 star, called Hiramatsu, that seems to not have survived the pandemic. It was a French restaurant with Japanese ownership. Akabeko reminds me a lot of Hiramatsu but is better! I have a new favorite now when i go to Paris.

One of the best Japanese restaurant outside Japan. I think I visited at least 100 Japanese restaurant all over the world but this is the best . The only thing I have to say is that the wine list recharged too much the real wine prices
