A super little restaurant serving tasty food. The prices are good and the portions are not huge. A nice wine list. Young serving staff creating a nice ambiance.

Returning to BastiJan after our very first visit in 2005, I am pleased to say that the food, service, and atmosphere has remained a consistent high quality. A very pleasant dining experience, as in the past! Looking forward to our next visit, hopefully not twenty years hence!

We enjoyed being greeted in a friendly manner by the host the attentiveness of the waitress and the quality of the food. It was a very enjoyable experience all round at a fair price and I recommend this restaurant. It was the best of our 6 nights in Haarlem and I understand why it was so difficult to get a booking.

Great evening, everything was lovely. Friendly, professional service, cosy and enjoyable ambience, shrimp starter very tasty, Chateaubriand melt in the mouth, and not too expensive all things considered

Splendid spot , if you book in advance ask for table 2 ( only 4 people), excellent service from the staff, and the menu is superb.( Good wine selection as well)

This restaurant was great. Service was really good, and the staff was very friendly. The food was very tasty and with great portions! We went for the Chateaubriand meat which was amazing, and the sauce was delicious. Would recommend for a nice dinner in a nice and calm atmosphere.

We arrived early, before the restaurant opened. We were welcomed and offered bread and olives outside. The sea bass was excellent and it was a very pleasant evening. All staff was helpful and engaging.

I was lucky to make a reservation namely in this small cosy restaurant in the heart of Haarlem. Amazing meals virtuously cooked by the chef who works here for 35 years (!), great variety of drinks and friendly atmosphere made my first evening in this lovely city unforgettable. Thank you!!

We were visiting from America and only had a couple of hours in Haarlem. We made a last-minute booking for 5:30 pm. Our server kind of ran the whole show.. He was amazingly attentive and helpful in choosing dishes. The food was absolutely delightful; every course was a home run. We will absolutely be back on our next visit to the Netherlands.
