A rare pearl among our careful selection of the best addresses right now
In the beginning, it was the word: wish. Then, the action. To convert this historic space, inspired by Art Deco, into an eclectic and contemporary space, where art and gastronomy, music and cocktails, the most conservative and the most eccentric coexist. With two floors and capacity to host about 70 people, Bistro 100 Maneiras is a hymn to pleasure, a characteristic that justified the no. 1 worldwide at the Monocle Restaurant Awards in 2017. Bistro means “clean and clear” in Serbo-Croatian. “Clean and clear” the space, the ideas, the food. Comfort cuisine is practiced here, in a choice made à la carte, with creations inspired by the traditional Portuguese recipe, “Yugoslavian”, French and Italian, with an author's touch and inspirations brought from Ljubo's journeys and experiences. Happy, too, are the suggestions from the bar, winner of the 2017 Coaster award for Best Bar in a Restaurant in Portugal.

7/10The welcoming was very good, lovely table on the 2nd floor. For the starter, the mackerel tartare was so smelly, we had to use another sauce from another starter to cover the smell. Some ginger or lemon juice will do a better job for all fish and seafood dish. For the main course, the fish rice was amazing, but we found a long hair in it … so, we told the waiter about it and he was very apologetic and claimed that he would offer us the dessert as an apology. When we received the bill, the dessert was billed and he claimed that it was how it was written in Portuguese (?). Anyhow, I did not want to battle for nothing and just let it be.

10/10Would absolutely recommend. The drinks are out of this world. The food is really amazing and we got recommended a bottle of wine that fit perfectly. This is one of those places you would want to go back again- something we did

8/10we had a nice meal and the service was good, we did feel that the food was slightly over priced for what it was, there were also just one or to odd things about the restaurant that place it as a bit style over substance , for example the menus came in large lovely designed folder which was impractically large to sit on the table, however inside was a tiny menu. however good food and service so who can complain :-)

10/10What a sensational meal we had at Bistro 100 Maneiras! The wild tiger prawns were the size of dinner plates and the octopus, done Asian style, was incredible. I had never tried octopus before; now I’m not sure I want to eat it any other way. It was THAT good! Don’t miss the Cheese Foam and Guava for dessert. In fact, make sure you order two. It was superb!

8.5/10FOOD WAS SOME OF THE BEST WE HAVE HAD IN LISBON. THE SERVICE IS SPOTTY. SEVERAL ITEMS ON THE MENU WERE UNAVAILABLE SOME OF WHICH WE ALREADY ORDERED. OUR FIRST SERVER DIDN’T UNDERSTAND OUR DRINK ORDERS EVEN THOUGH WE ORDERED FROM THEIR COCKTAIL MENU. MY WIFE ORDERED A DIRTY MARTINI WITH OLIVES WHICH NO ONE COULD GET. THEY THEN SWAPPED WAITERS. THIS GUY WAS EXCELLENT. ALSO SAT US UPSTAIRS WHICH WAS A BIT TOO WARM AND ALL AMERICANS

4/10Honestly I’d not bother, the food was average and the service was poor. I’d seen so many review that were mixed it should have been a sign. I’d certainly not go back, am sure other restaurants offer better service and food.

10/10We were warmly greeted and ushered to our table upstairs overlooking the lively street scene of Chiado district. Our server promptly described the menu. It was infused with the chef’s home cuisine of Bosnia. Wine service was professional and eager to introduce us to Portuguese wines. Food was delicious and well presented. Overall a highlight meal during our stay in Lisbon.

9/10An enjoyable experience! Although the dishes taste good, the seasoning and flavors of the dishes are very strong, so I recommend sharing between courses and starters. 5 stars for the service and a special thanks to Mafalda and Ricardo. From Aveiro and Porto.

4/10Waiter was inexperienced and said "ok" every other word. At one point I asked him what was inside the ravioli and he only told me what was outside of the ravioli. The food was a set course for Valentine's Day and we didn't finish any of the courses... the ambience is super maximalist with too many ideas similar to the food, ideas that haven't been refined or thought thoroughly to see if they actually coalesce.

Kind regards.

8/10While the service and drinks were great, the food was a bit of a letdown. We've ordered starters, which were ok (some were better than others), but the main dishes were good enough to spoil our evening. Both fish dishes came very over-salted, which was a shame, because that tuna belly looked wonderful when it was brought out and presented. Turbot collar was also presented prior to cooking, and it was the last time it looked delicious, because after it was cooked, it was not what we've expected. I really don't understand why it had to be salted so much (although few theories were thrown out for a private discussion) One member of the party had a meat dish, and while it was not over-salted as my fish, the meat itself was a bit dry (there is a small possibility that it shuold be, due to the dish itself, ie the cut of meat used etc) When one pays for a meal this high of a price-tag, one expects for a meal to be worth the money paid, unfortunately, this particular time it wasn't. I cant recommend this place at this time, however, should you decide to go, maybe stay away from the fish, or ask for the salt on a side, and salt it yourself to your liking. We were so disappointed that we didn't even stay for deserts. Sadly, this restaurant left us feeling salty.

Dear Russel, first of all we would like to thank you for the positive feedback regarding the service and drinks. However, we’re deeply sad to read that the food wasn't entirely to your liking and that your experience at Bistro 100 Maneiras wasn’t able to meet your expectations. Since day one, more than a decade ago, our main goal has always been to provide our clients a remarkable experience, made of great food, great wines and cocktails, a great ambiance and a great service. These are the ingredients that made Bistro number 1 in the world at the Monocle Restaurant Awards, in 2017, among many other prizes and recommendations in countless media. We wish you could have mentioned your issues regarding the food during your dinner, as our team is always 100% available to make the necessary adjustments to provide you a perfect experience. We will, however, share this review internally so we can check for any problems and continue to improve our work. And we sincerely hope we can welcome you back to our restaurant,

4/10It all started on the wrong foot when arriving and being told in no uncertain terms that my booking was for two people, even though there were four of us. I checked the email confirmation and I definitely booked for the correct number of people. The staff member made us feel like she was doing us an enormous favour by giving us a table. Pretentiousness at its highest level. Food was pretty average and prices are unreasonably high for what you get. Finally, it all ended on a sour note when during payment the server was extremely pushy for a tip by making it very clear that service charge wasn't included and it was customary to leave a generous tip (?!) She clearly was aiming for a high tip from my American friend, probably knowing that americans tend to tip well. This place has seen better days and I'm clearly placing it in the tourist trap category now. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else, there are much better options literally across the road.

Dear Mario, we are very sorry to read that your experience at Bistro couldn’t meet your expectations. There was, in fact, a glitch in our booking system, that we tried to solve as quickly as possible in order to minimize the problem. We are very sorry for this and it was never our intention to make you feel uncomfortable in any way. We are also sorry that you didn’t enjoy your food. We’d like to add that our team is always prepared to make any changes on your order in case it doesn’t suit your taste, so we wish you could have told us that during your meal, so we could have provided you a better experience. Lastly, we apologize if you felt pushed to leave a tip. That is not Bistro’s policy and we will share this review with all our team so we can check what went wrong and continue to improve our work. Best regards.

10/10What an amazing experience! The staff were all well trained about the food and made amazing recommendations. The food was delicious with perfect combinations of flavors. The restaurant itself was warm and welcoming. The music soundtrack was a perfect blend for the evening, not too loud and yet at times made you stop and say, what’s that song? A+++ We we’re a couple dining and found it romantic, yet the staff is so warm and welcoming, I feel a single diner would have an excellent meal as well. A don’t miss in Lisboa!
