This place, close to the Piazza Maggiore, is a real gem... so good we went there twice in three nights! It has lovely staff, a bustling, popular ambience and some quite exceptional dishes conjured up with very simple ingredients. On the first night we chose 4 small dishes from the mezze menu -- roast pumpkin, an artichoke and fennel salad, grilled, spiced haloumi and some thinly sliced Sardinian pork with mustard and pecorino. Everything zinged on the plate with quality and skill... but the finishing touch was a chocolate 'Lava cake' and stupendously rich profiterolles made with zabaglione cream, black cherries and dark chocolate sauce. On the second night we chose from the ever-changing board of main courses -- tuna with red cabbage and as a brilliant alternative to risotto, a quite wonderful bowl of seafood fregola (a nutty, pebble-shaped pasta from Sardinia) in an intensely rich sauce of prawns and mullet bottarga. A revelation, as is the entire experience. A special place.

The place is charming - The food was fine - but the service was a bit sloppy. We did not Get all the dishes we ordered (didn’t matter as we had enough to eat). The waitor was not very attentive After clearing the dinner plates - we had to ask for the dessert menue ourself After having waited quite a substantial time.

absolutely enjoyable atmosphere, impeccable service and high quality, excellent food. The place is very cozy and the interiors are very curated. It's a shame that when the room is crowded tables are too much close one to the other.

First impressions: beautiful airy space, bright, artistic. Welcomed warmly, asked for our presence of table, given good information about daily plates, wines, appetizers, etc. Food was exceptional. We shared the niced mixed appetizers, each had the salads topped with gorgonzola & walnuts, one of us had the mushroom lasagna, the other tuna tataki. All served with crusty bread and super light large wafers. Outstanding experience!

We had an outstanding experience at Fior di Sale in Bologna. The meal was exceptional, beautifully prepared dishes full of flavour, balance, and care. Every course felt thoughtful and genuinely memorable. What truly elevated the evening, however, was the service. Our server managed the entire floor almost single-handedly, and did so with grace, calm, and genuine hospitality. She never missed a beat, and her attentiveness made the experience feel personal and well-paced despite a full house. Equally impressive was the barman, whose timing, skill, and presence added a professional rhythm to the whole night. Between the two of them, they delivered the kind of seamless service you’d expect from a much larger team. A superb meal, impeccable service, and a place we would return to without hesitation. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing meal! We told the waitress we weren’t meat eaters, but ate fish. They surprised us with a gorgeous Mediterranean mezze and a delicious traditional pannacotta dessert. A fantastic meal that we will never forget. Great wine too and the BEST staff. Everyone who worked there were lovely. Thanks so much!

I don't think this type of restaurant is for us. We don't have sophisticated pallettes for fancy places. We ended up going back to a place from the day before for dinner. Nothing seemed very edible to us, maybe we choose poorly

Excellent food, really tasty and high quality. However, the ambient didn't match with the food. The nice atmosphere was destroyed with a live concert. So if you are looking for a cosy and relaxed ambience, better you ask before if there will be a live show.

Great atmosphere, delicious food and great prices. It’s a wonderful place to enjoy some delicious food and have a nicer experience than the usual tourist restaurants. The staff were fantastic and the food delicious. Highly recommend
