The food was OK. Please note that there are two menus: a glazed printed one with photos and high prices, and a daily menu with lower prices. You must order from the first menu to get the half-off Fork discount. So the Fork bargain is only relative. About five restaurants around the station offer the same dishes with the same prices, so this place is evidently one of a conglomerate.

The majority of our group opted for burgers, which were universally well-received for their flavor and juiciness. My girlfriend, however, found her duck dish lacking, as the fat was not properly rendered. On the brighter side, my dorade was a highlight – perfectly seasoned and complemented by lovely, fresh vegetables. Desserts also stood out, with each option being nicely balanced and satisfying. The friendly and humorous servers added to the welcoming atmosphere, ensuring an enjoyable dining experience. L’avant Gare is a solid choice for a casual yet delightful meal.
