My experience at "La Escalera del Vino" started with a strange discovery: Vega Sicilia Único listed under white wines. When I pointed it out to the waiter, he casually suggested there might be a white version, which set the tone for the evening. The place, claiming to be a "wine temple," lacked basic wine knowledge and stock. Several wines we ordered were unavailable, with one being served by the glass from an open bottle. After being charged for a wine they didn’t have and forgetting a discount, I confronted the owner, who responded dismissively. Despite the service disaster, the food was good and reasonably priced. The ambiance had potential but was undermined by damp walls. If you're looking for good wine and professional service, this isn't the place. However, if you enjoy a comedy of errors, it’s perfect. My advice: save yourself the stress and go elsewhere for a decent glass of wine.

Lamentamos que no haya disfrutado la experiencia sin embargo es muy grave como ha descrito la situación. Desde el principio le informamos sobre la falta de disponibilidad de ciertos vinos y le ofrecimos alternativas, pero decidió insistir en opciones que no estaban en stock. En cuanto a la botella servida por copa, se le explicó claramente y, además, se le aplicó una rebaja significativa por ello. Sobre su comentario acerca de Vega Sicilia Único, en la carta se muestra claramente que está clasificado como vino tinto, si usted lo interpretó de otra manera, fue su error de lectura, no nuestro. Le recomendamos leer más para no estar publicando reseñas en las que se refleje su falta de comprensión lectora. Además, cuando se detectó un problema con la cuenta, se le ofreció una solución inmediata. Lo que sí nos parece inaceptable es la falta de respeto y las actitudes despectivas hacia nuestro equipo, como interrumpir de malas formas, poner la mano en la cara a una camarera o sacarle la lengua.

If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience, this restaurant is a must-visit. From the moment we arrived, we were treated to exceptional food, drinks, and service that exceeded our expectations. The tomato salad with burrata was a standout, featuring incredibly fresh tomatoes and perfectly seasoned burrata—a simple dish elevated to perfection. Following that, the osso buco cannelloni was a revelation, served in a rich, creamy sauce with just a hint of truffle that added depth and elegance to every bite. The braised octopus, however, was the true highlight—tender, flavorful, and quite simply the best we've ever had. The experience was further enhanced by Dennis, our server, whose extensive knowledge of the menu and wine list ensured that each recommendation was spot on. His expertise added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal, and his attention to detail made our evening seamless.

Chose this restaurant after finding it on via Michelin. Food was nothing special. Not bad but just nothing special. Rave reviews on this site were misleading. Asked for two wines that weren’t available and pushed to take another.
