All started well but went downhill from then on … No time between 1st course and main course! Mine and my husband’s meal was served on cold plates and wasn’t cooked how we wanted it ,wasn’t medium Rare it was almost blue ! Our daughter and Grandson’s meal was good . We have in the past been there many times and really enjoyed our experience both with excellent food and, service and atmosphere! The later was very lacking I’m afraid on this occasion. On reflection we should’ve asked for a discount but, our disappointment wasn’t easy to register so rather than a confrontation we walked out after paying rather an extortionate bill !

Positives: Lovely ambience, live music but not too intrusive, good selection of food on the menu. Food was tasty and fresh, nothing felt pre prepared. Negatives: service was terrible. Left waiting for our pre booked table for 40 minutes. Had to remind them 3 x that we were still waiting. Then another 20 minutes to be served once taken to our table. Booked for 9pm, first food order arrived at 10:30pm. Manager was however very apologetic.

Saudade is lovely. Informal, understated, inexpensive and does what it says on the tin. It rocks in high season, and makes a lot of people happy. This visit was in low season, and under the care of a new chef. Slightly underwhelming, but acceptable. Always suck a joy to see Dietmar and Paulo front of house)

we tend to have a good experience when we dine here but unfortunately the staff got our order wrong and once the time our food arrived the rest of the table had eaten disappointed to say the least as it one of our favourite places to eat

Booked a table on the recommendation of a friend. To start with, the entrance into the restaurant is clearly posted with the name and menu, plus a buzzer. However, they do not answer, requiring you to enter through the hotel - No Signage. Starters Menu - There are alternative means of flavouring food other than by adding garlic (75% of options had garlic). One of the main course ordered was a Risotto. Very poor with under-cooked rice and watery. I must add here that I had the Rack of Lamb which was very good. However, the desert chosen was a Panna Cotta. A good Panna Cotta is supposed to be smooth in texture. However, what was delivered had a sand like texture. When it was pointed out to the waitress, she duly brought it to the attention of the chef. No apology received, just a response that there was nothing wrong with it. We will not be returning.

Ok food, but quite expensive. Especially considering the restaurant lacked atmosphere. Restaurant setting was pretty but atmosphere was a bit flat and needed some background music or something. Staff were also a bit quiet and did not really interact at all.

Perfect spot for a restaurant in “The Golden Triangle”. Lovely friendly well trained staff. Food delicious, what’s not to like !
