So nearly great but it was let down by a few "niggles". Overall the food was very good although they ruined a wonderful red prawn tatare by smothering it in orange zest! Destroyed the delicate flavour of the star attraction. Everything else was good - fish perfectly cooked, presentation basic but clean-cut; it all just missed a wow factor. Wine list was decent value but no mainland Italian wines on offer. I understand supporting your community but some choice would be great. Staff friendly and efficient; every table outside was full (on a Monday night!) but no real delays to complain of. Terrific Italian lemon gelato to finish which was the best dish we had! 150e for 2 with 1 bottle of wine and 2 glasses of prosecco.

Super friendly/professional service, the maitre looked after us very well. The food was delightful, fresh and super rich in flavour, good portion too so no chances to leave the restaurant hungry. A nice view too and again staff were very attentive. We decided to book via a TikTok video and we celebrated our first wedding anniversary with them, no regrets and we will come back on our next visit in Ortigia. Well done

Food was awful. Red sauce tasted like Hunts ketchup, linguine with clams was mealy and sandy, overall food was bland. Service was rushed and hectic, forgot 2 of 11 dishes. All the positive reviews we read on TripAdvisor and elsewhere could not be right, someone is doing a good job of manipulating. Only consolation was it wasn’t expensive so at least it didn’t burn too much in how disappointed we were. 1/2 the group went to a pizza place afterwards. Total tourist trap.

We had a wonderful meal at Stupor Mundi Ortigia, with excellent service too. The food was like alchemy - cooked with the freshest of ingredients and to perfection! So incredibly tasty, and the wine pairing was excellent too. I recommend going to the restaurant around 8.30pm when Italians tend to go out, as it was very quiet when we arrived earlier. The atmosphere got better with more people there. But overall, brilliant experience.

The restaurant is in the historic center of Syracuse, very close to the shore. The atmosphere was welcoming, service was great and food was excellent!
