The food was of excellent quality and very tasty. The veal was superb as was the Branzino and calamari. The Taverna has an old school ambiance and is very quiet. Red House wine was of excellent value. Deserts were all delicious but the house made lemon sorbet with bits of zested lemon was exceptional.

It's just a little hard to find this restaurant, but when you enter, you are in a lovely environment. The service is perfectly attentive, and the food superb. This is Ligurian cuisine, that is, a little further north than Rome (Genova, Cinqueterre). Therfore, the fish is better than what one will find in Roman restaurants. We liked the wine from Cinqueterre.

The restaurant is a short walk from St. Peter’s Basilica and is a very traditional atmospheric place. The food and service were excellent and given the location the prices were very good. The Minestrone Soup was fantastic and all of the meat dishes we chose were delicious.

Every time we come Rome, this is the first restaurant we visit - it is the best as far as we are concerned. The owner Mario and his excellent staff always make us feel welcome. The food is absolutely outstanding. We simply order the fresh fish of the day and have them prepare it the way they choose. For appetizers, we had the anchovies marinated with lemon and fried zucchini blossoms, a perfect preparation for the fresh fish main course. This time it was a wonderful branzino (for two), simply grilled with.some olive oil, lemon, and olives - very tender and delicious. For contorni (side dishes), we had the spinach and roasted potatoes, a perfect accompaniment to the fish. Finally, for dessert, we had the heavenly Tartufo della Casa. This is a classic restaurant (you can tell as soon as you walk in) of which there are fewer and fewer in Rome. We are always guaranteed a memorable experience, and that's why we keep returning. If you are looking for a quiet and romantic restaurant that serves delectable food, the Taverna Giulia is for you. Grazie Mario for another perfect evening!

Wonderful restaurant, traditional, fresh, Italian food. We both had fish and it was very good. Puddings equally good. It’s my third time eating at the restaurant and I will he back again.

This restaurant makes the best pesto ever. The service is friendly and excellent. The grilled fish is superb. Plus, tartufo gelato is on the menu. We love this place.

One month in Rome, and this was the absolute best of all the places we went to, and we went to many of the best. This is a classic traditional restaurant. Everything we had was excellent: for appetizer, fresh sardines in lemon; for primi: Pansoti alla salsa di noci (ricotta/spinach filled pasta (like tortelloni) with walnut sauce, and Trofie di Recco col pesto (fresh pasta with pesto); for secondi: a grilled branzino for two (highly recommend a shared fresh fish rather than two smaller separate fish dishes); for dessert: Sorbetto al basilico and a creme brullee, followed by two espressos. Despite a three-course meal, we did not feel it was uncomfortably too much. Top top top. No wonder that for 2022, they are included in the Gambero Rosso restaurant guide for Rome. Original owner still oversees this restaurant. Very welcoming and attentive service. Cannot recommend more highly.
