We I had an incredible experience at Vik Pellico Otto in Milan! They not only complied with every single request we made with impeccable attention to detail but also went above and beyond by surprising a birthday girl. Great service and great food. I wanted to try Osso Bucco a la Milanese in Milan, and this place came through. Interesting shrimp tartar with Caprese flavors as appetizer. Fantastic view of the VE gallery from the window table we had.

We were unlucky last maybe because it was Monday. Met a friend that I hadn’t seen for a few years and got caught up talking. Apparently the kitchen prepared are food too soon as we were eating slow and took a long time to finish our appetizers and the pasta dishes were served cold. Same thing happened with our second dish of octopus. It was dried and hard as if it was precooked or sitting under a heat Lamp for a long time. After which we were left alone without clearing our plates or offering anything else as the staff was more concerned about cleaning the room and closing the restaurant. Not acceptable food preparation timing for the level of restaurant that it is trying to be.

The view over the shopping area was a pleasant surprise. The excitement and interesting people watching without the noise or bustle tucked away just above them was fun. The food was beautifully presented and a pleasure to eat. It is also a short walk to La Scala so a perfect pre-performance dining location!!!

They forgot to send our order to the kitchen so the food took very long, but did everything possible to make us comfortable and compensate for the mistake, from free appetizers to paying for the full meal when it took too long. While not ideal, it shows they do care a lot about your experience in their restaurant and surely it doesn't happen very often. Food was very good, even the olive oil was top tier. Views from the restaurant are amazing.
