The restaurant was ok. Very nice ambience, the server was not Portuguese and that, being in Portugal, is a negative point. At very least, they should be able to speak Portuguese. But nonetheless we understood each other and the orders were made and delivered with no mistakes, The lighting is very nice, and it’s fun to be able to look into the kitchen. The food is ok. Not the greatest, but it’s not too bad either. Well cooked, well seasoned, but the quality could easily be improved. For a chef’s restaurant, it was a little disappointing, to be honest.

Comi o hambúrguer e estava muito bom porém na ementa so diz que tem maionese de pickles e até perguntei e disseram me que era só com maionese mas depois afinal tinha mais ingredientes. Já o bacalhau à brás poderia levar mais ovos mas estava bastante bom

We were staying in the hotel Residencial Florescente and have now dined here 3 times. You have the option to eat outside. The 2 chefs work brilliantly together in the open kitchen, and all our meals have been delicious. You can choose to eat Tapas or larger meals. Our favourite dishes are the Gambas ( garlic prawns), Peixinhos da horta (fried green beans), and last night had the Chuleton (t-bone for 2) best steak! We have not been disappointed with any of our choices. The wait staff with the Mestre d, oversee a very smooth running of the restaurant and delivery of service. With many restaurants to choose from in the street, Bistro 99 has excellent quality and service, We tried 3 other places and found Bistro 99 to be far superior but also relaxed. The Fork discount was a bonus. Wines were reasonably priced, a glass for €5. Highly recommend..
