6/10First, the waiter was ok. We arrived early. He was not interested in our having a reservation. The printed menu did NOT show the fried bread which was served to another table even though I asked him for it. The pasta dish was supposed to have prosciutto and asparagus, but only came with the prosciutto. The mixed salad was supposed to come with tomatoes but didn’t. I asked for them and he brought some out. The pasta portion was huge and could easily have served 2. The roast beef was excellent and also a substantial portion—probably the best roast beef we’ve ever eaten. Our biggest complaint was asking for the 30 % discount. The cashier refused to give it to us. Our bill was 48 Euros of which 5 was for wine and 6 for sparkling water. The location was on the outskirts of Centro Historico so it did not seem touristy. Looking at the Italians, they seemed to be ordering from a different menu.

10/10Everything was delicious - tortellini en brodo was especially flavorful but I think our favorite was the pig knuckle! Unfortunately, we forgot to get a picture until it was cut into - but it was fantastic!

9.5/10Enjoyable dinner. Service was excellent as was the food quality. We had Bologna meat and cheese to start, followed by pasta dishes. The pasta was particularly good - very fresh and great quality especially the sausage and the asparagus with Parma ham. Puddings were also great.

4/10It was a Tuesday and the restaurant was Empty - we were the only table. 7:30pm and when we left at 8:30 - no other table was occupied. Crumbled and stained paper menu (not because it changes daily). food was average at best. The spritz my wife had was the worst on our 18 day trip through Italy. Overall a very uncomfortable and not so great experience.

8/10The service is the best part of the meal-the waiter is super attentive and helped us split all our food, which we didn’t ask for. The table is a little too small, cannot have more than two plates on so that’s slightly annoying but they made it work by pacing the speed of dishes. Steak is slightly bland but they gave us salt and pepper, Ravi pasta is flavorful!

6.5/10This place is very noisy but it was a Friday night! The appetisers were delicious but both our pastas were underwhelming. Our dessert was ok. The waiters were kind and welcoming.

10/10I came here with my girlfriend before heading back home from a visit to Bologna based on the excellent reviews I've read. The quality of food the extreme courtesy the waiters and their helpfulness in explaining the dishes were extraordinary. We both had a wonderful time dining here and I fully recommend the Buca di San Francesco and it's genuine atmosphere to everyone who wants to taste Bologna's tasty cuisine.
