I can’t believe how the restaurant has earned such a high rating. The food was less than mediocre and the portions were tiny (both pork and cod fish ordered are in large instead of small). What a disappointing experience!

We are not big eaters but the portions were really very small. Descriptions of the food sounded better than the results. The pasta was ok but not hot enough and the cod was too well cooked and had almost no taste. Not to speak about the desert that promised to be a Pavlova just that it had no fruit in it. The wines were of low quality.

We stumbled on this while out for a cocktail. We couldnt get in on that night but immediately got a reservation for the next night. THE BEST DECISION EVER. The food, the staff and the al fresco was perfect.

+3This place is a gem! I am from New York City and I’ve dined here for most of my stay every time I was in Bologna. Out of all of the places I’ve dined in Milan, Florence, and Bologna, this is my number 1. It is a local restaurant that uses the freshest and seasonal ingredients. Their dishes are very unique and had a perfect balance of flavors. Their service is impeccable. Sara took care of me each time and patiently explained the dishes and the daily specials. Upon request, Sara and Francesca will recommend specific wine to pair with your dishes. Every dish was finessed with precision by two talented young chefs, Angela and Jacopo. The restaurant’s menu changes according to the ingredients in season. A few must haves if you’re lucky enough to see it on the menu: fried meatballs, anchovies with charred kale, and caramelized onions with pasta. I would also recommend their ice cream because the ice cream maker is two stores down from them. You cannot go wrong with any food items here 🥂!

This is an amazing restaurant. Wonderful, innovative food. Superb service. We were there with a big party, and the staff was so attentive and kind. I couldn't recommend this place more highly. Twenty stars!

The menu was interesting and imaginative supported by delicious food. The staff was welcoming and attentive. We enjoyed wines by the glass as recommended. The restaurant interior is comfortable and interesting. Overall a really beautiful and delicious meal based in traditional roots but with a few tasty twists.

Popular restaurant with potential, but the evening turned out to be very average. The aperitivo mortadella was good, the sardines tasteful, but very simply presented, Decent Lambrusco and franciacorta wines to accompany. The mussel pasta was average and the pappardelle delicious, but again, plain. From online sources it also seems we did not have the regular menu… service was fair, but the waiter seemed stressed. With the good reviews as our initial pointers we expected better.

I cannot begin to express how satisfied my husband and I were with our meal at Via Con Me. The food used local ingredients in a unique and delicious way. The shrimp and fennel dish was truly one of the best meals I’ve had at a restaurant, and the prices were so reasonable for this quality of food. Service was warm and gracious. We wanted to try everything on the menu, but guess we will have to come back! Perfection! A must visit in Bologna.

I tried this restaurant because of good reviews, but sadly left disappointed. White wine by the glass was decent served by patient wait staff. Unfortunately when there were more tables staff forgot my 2nd glass. Had fried anchovies with wonderful pickled vegetables, and pasta with artichokes. Anchovies served a bit too cold so on the bland side. Pasta a touch overdone so texture was not correct, but light sauce of lemon, shredded percorino and oil was nice. Fantastic, outstanding bread.

Excellent service. We had a window seat. Cool French cafe type music set the mood. Great food; we had appretizers, pasta and dessert. Wonderful wine/food pairings x3.

Excellent trattoria, we loved it! Food, wine, service, everything was perfect. We didn’t like the desserts (zuppa inglese and panacotta with salty caramel), we should have avoided.

The food was great, and very reasonably priced. The waitress was very helpful and spoke English to hep us understand the Italian menu. All in all highly recommend.
