This is a charming place where the food is the centre of attention. We were treated to a delicious opener of gambero on a pillow of ragù di pomodoro. The star for me was a my primo – a single enormous shell like a boat containing the calamari and cherry tomato. The wine list is impressive, underlining the Enoteca in the name. We went on a Monday evening when it was quiet, but that gave us chance to enjoy lots of personal attention from their lovely staff. My only regret is that the outdoor dining area is in the inner court, and not on the canal edge where other restaurants nearby enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere with suggestive views of this fine canal.

The decoration and look of the place is beautiful and everything was presented lovely. The menu lacked clarity and was on a first visit a little confusing, this along with language barrier made choosing dishes difficult. We were unsure exactly what was coming to our table. Some flavours in some dishes were lacking which was disappointing. Our waitress was lovely and as the night progressed she did try to be clearer with our food choices and decisions.
