This is a beautiful little restaurant tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the busy tourist treck. The staff were lovely however the food did let it down a bit. It wasn’t good value for money and unfortunately was disappointing. We also had quite a wait before we were served both our starter and the second course. Both of which were underwhelming. There’s no doubt the staff’s friendliness made up for this wait but unfortunately didn’t make up for the culinary experience. The menus description of the food is not matched by what is served to you. It’s such a pity as it’s a lovely little place to be.

I went for lunch twice in two days on a visit to Venice, once alone and once with friends. On both occasions, the food was superb, with meticulous attention paid to both substance and style, but without being overly pretentious. Small things that accompanied the dinner were all excellent: the wine, the coffee, the complimentary "amuse-bouche" consisting of some lagoon life (whitebait on one occasion, some sort of micro-shrimps on another), the dessert. The service was both impeccably professional and friendly/attentive (e.g., they were happy to come up with an improvised simple --- and far less expensive --- pasta solution for a friend's child; they also tried honestly to accommodate a vegetarian friend, which is not always easy with Venetian menus). While it was on the expensive side, I think they earned what they charged. The place itself is located in a charming square, which is extremely close to everything but is somehow not very crowded by tourists.
