We loved the tagliatelle pasta with meat sauce and the shrimp and zucchini risotto. We sat outside and loved people watching in the piazza. The interior of the restaurant is lovely, too. Service was great—very prompt.

One of the best steaks I have ever had. Service was quick and kind. Server Leo was especially lovely, offering us great recommendations and conversation. Would recommend.

The food was a mix of good and disappointing. The risotto was good, and the Bolognese was also well prepared. However, the seafood spaghetti was mediocre: clearly made with low‑quality frozen ingredients. The dish included just one prawn, one tiny crawfish, a few Vietnamese clams, five or six small mussels, and three thin rings of small squid. Very poor for the price. The staff were attentive throughout the meal and interacted nicely with the children. Unfortunately, at the end, an unpleasant incident occurred — and the explanation given made it even worse. We noticed that every table was being offered a complimentary glass of limoncello… except ours. After paying the bill, I asked the head waiter why we were the only ones not offered it. The answers were baffling: - “Your wife asked for the bill, so we thought you were in a hurry.” - “But do you want the limoncello? I can have it served!” I explained that it wasn’t about the drink itself, but about understanding why we were t

Excellent dining experience in the heart of Florence! Great waiters, quality steaks, good (and well-priced) wine list. This is the now the second time we've dined at Il Santa Maria Steakhouse and we look forward to coming back!

I do not recommend this restaurant. One of the servers, who looked African, kept pushing me to order things. I didn’t want steak, but he kept insisting, and when I said I wanted a small portion, he claimed the bone alone weighs 300g so I’d have to order at least 1.1kg. He repeatedly pushed the expensive beef cuts, so in the end I decided not to order steak at all. The ragù pasta (15€) wasn’t salty and actually suited a Korean palate really well — it was incredibly delicious. If you book through TheFork, you get 30% off. They said the discount also applies to the steak, so if you were planning on having steak, you could give it a try — just don’t get pressured by their upselling. Bread and water cost 6€ (3€ per person). And honestly… why are you asking for a tip when you didn’t even do anything? Italy is not a country where tipping is expected at restaurants.
