What an absolute gem! The food was really superb: from the delicious chorizo and fried prawns to the monkfish and prawns rice.. excellent in every respect. And so well priced, too

Will not be returning. Have visited Melody every trip for the last 15 years. My family of 5 was very dissapointed. Picanha: old meat, impossible to chew missing all the accompaniments. No fried banana for example. Watery beans. Straight from a can. When i mentioned something the owner said ‘tough luck maybe next time’. Sorry really did she see in the reservation via fork that im a happy returning customer. Maybe she doesnt recognize me but thats no friendly reaction. The competition is huge in the old town of cascais. Plates everywhere for tiny tables, how is someone supposed to eat? Did they think of that? It can be cute and romantic but this was an overkill. Chocos: cold and raw union. Cut in baby cubes? Chocos is a big squid type like a glove so it didnt make sense to cut it in tiny ‘leftovers’. Presentation was lacking a lot. White house wine served unchilled. In the summer is a big no. Waiter looked sad and tired. Didnt say welcome nor asked us for desserts.

Too bad they didn't have the Arroz de marisco, while it was on the menu. The Arroz with codfish and shrimp tasted very well there was plenty. Serving with only one person for a full house seemed hectic, so guests did not get the attention they deserve. All in all it was one of the better meals we had in Cascais.

Unassuming little restaurant patronised by locals and visitors alike, which is always a good sign. Food was local and delicious, service friendly and relaxed, and overall it was very good value. Free WiFi is available. Just be aware they only accept cash payment but there are cash machines in the general area if needed. I would definitely go back 👍

Pleasantly surprised with this small restaurant in a part of the city that is awash with eating choices. Simple fare; nothing fancy here. By far the best food we had in Portugal, which is saying a lot. Wait staff was very attentive and were interested in where we were from and where we had been visiting in Portugal. The ambiance allowed for pleasant conversation.

Great food, locals seem to eat here. Sea-bass, steak and sardines were all good. Nice waiter. The fizzy green wine was excellent as well. Good value for money.

Spot on come 3 days ago and had to come back. Spoke to the owner chef who has been here for 41 years. Excellent chef and really nice person and also the staff one of them being his wife.
