We booked the omakase but we could not enjoy the full menu because we were suffering from indigestion from the previous day's meal. My husband did not want to cancel on the booking. Thanks to Chef Nikhil and his team for being so understanding and empathetic and accommodated to what we could eat. The ingredients were so fresh and it's really a pity that we weren't in the best condition to savour them. We highly recommend this place if you are in Lisbon. Definitely worth experiencing authentic Japanese food outside Japan. We will be back if we visit Lisbon again. Wonderful people and service.

As regular guests of Yakuza, we came to Mimi with high expectations, but left disappointed. The sake I requested was said to be “unavailable,” yet soon after I saw it served to another guest. The food was underwhelming: flavors lacked finesse, execution felt ordinary, and some dishes were unpleasant. The wagyu pastrami sandwich, for example, had too many fatty elements and no balance, leaving it heavy rather than refined. Other dishes felt uninspired and lacked the creativity expected from fine dining. Plates arrived too quickly, making us feel rushed instead of relaxed. Service was uneven. One attentive waiter contrasted with a waitress who seemed uneasy and unfocused. On top of that, the chef’s loud explanations to counter guests disrupted the quiet table experience we wanted. After paying, no one asked if we enjoyed the meal or even said goodbye. For a place that presents itself as high-end, Mimi fell short on food, atmosphere, and service. Sadly, we will not return.
