10/10Great restaurant!. Simple, classic dishes with a classy touch. The excelent service and atmosphera of the place makes it a very nice experience overall. A perfect option if you are visiting Rome and want to avoid tourist traps. Prices are very reasonable according to what you get.

7.5/10We enjoyed the food though thought the service to be mediocre. The waitress we had lacked any emotions, seemed bored, and had nothing to offer as far as recommendations or suggestions go. We didn’t think that we were getting much attention and then took forever to get the bill. I know there is always a fine line between not wanting for folks to feel rushed and taking forever but we haven’t gotten a bill even after I asking for one so my husband had to go in and request/pay inside (we were exhausted after the travel and were ready to go back to the hotel room after the meal).

4.5/10SHAME on Michelin Guide to put Poldo e Gianna Osteria on their 2025 restaurants list! Terrible service which I would describe not any better than a lower cost cafe whilst standard food quality, it is definitely NOT worth the recognition!!!

Hello Lai, As soon as we showed you your table, you complained that it was too small for three people (a type of table we've always reserved for three and no one has ever complained), demanding to be changed to a table that was reserved for five. Since the restaurant was full, we couldn't accommodate your request, and right then you told the waiter you'd be writing a bad review before even sitting down and ordering. Given the situation the waiters reported to me, I personally checked the service at your table, which was absolutely friendly, punctual, and of high-quality preparation. This was confirmed by the way you addressed the waiter and especially by how much you appreciated our dishes, since the plates came back completely finished and clean. Unfortunately, your review is not a truthful and constructive one.

9.5/10This was our first meal in Rome. I am so happy I looked up information about Poldo e Gianna because we would have never found it as tourists. The restaurant is tucked away and clearly comes highly recommended. The Cacio e Pepe was incredible - a bite that I will forever remember as part of my first meal in Italy. The service was great, the wine was amazing, and dessert was delicious. The only very slight issue was that our table was in the basement and very close to another table. Honestly, though, I’m just grateful I was smart enough to book a table here.

5/10The entrance experience was smooth, with a well-presented arrival area and efficient guest coordination. However, the Maitre D’ had difficulty locating our reservation, causing an unnecessary delay. We were seated at Table No. 1, which felt subpar for a fully booked Michelin-rated venue. A strong smell of detergent from the nearby kitchen area negatively affected the ambiance. Service was inconsistent. While our waiter was knowledgeable, attention was clearly skewed toward larger tables. No explanations were given for the wine or dishes, and surprisingly, no allergy check was performed. The two female waiters assigned to our table appeared disengaged, lacking the warmth and enthusiasm expected at this level. On a positive note, the food was well-executed and nicely presented. However, the restrooms were outdated and below the standards of a fine dining establishment. Though the Maitre D’ checked in at the end, the overall experience did not meet expectations.

3/10Food was Okay… service was bad, not to say terrible, our waitress was in a bad mood the whole time, she never came to asked if we needed anything else, actually she approached us to ask if we could talk a little bit more quiet. We were a table of 9 older adults, so in no moment we were very loud. I usually make reservations using The Fork and all the time if a place has good ratings, tends to be a great place, but sadly this was not the case.

Hello Karina, i am sorry for your review but I can inform you that your behavior at the table was absolutely confusing since we received more than one complaint from the tables near you, for this reason the waitress came to ask you to pay attention to the tone of voice at least 2 times. Comparing myself with the room manager the service assistance was in line with our standards probably the atmosphere of my restaurant did not reflect your needs. Regards. Leopoldo
