There was an end-of-season atmosphere. No wine in the bottle, just open house wine. The glass for overpriced 8€!!! The additional mushrooms in the pastamenue for a totally overpriced 7€!!! The electronic payment did not work. A totally bad experience.

The service was very, very bad. My girlfriend is vegan and asked very politely what on the menu could be made vegan. The waitress got visibly annoyed by the question and simply answered “pasta with tomato sauce”. She also did not know if any of the sides were or could be made vegan. We got our food and were not engaged one single time for the rest of the night. I had to flag down another waitress for the bill eventually as I’d given up on getting the attention of our original waitress. Absolute horrible service, the food was decent.

Excellent place to eat, enjoy great and delicious meals. Tasty wines. Great atmosphere, friendly owners and staff who make your visit a very pleasant one. A best in Volterra. We love to visit this Ristorante often. Thank you Torre del Porcellino!

Unfriendly service,. As a guest we were not fluent in Italian, and our server was not fluent in English. Unfortunately, this led to 3 of 4 orders not being what we had thought we ordered. Wine we wanted was out of stock, waitress suggested next highest priced bottle. At time of payment, women at cashier said cash only. When I communicated I had no Euro’s, she then was able to use credit card machine.

The restaurant is cosy, we got seated by the waiter on the street at a very good table, when another waiter approached us and asked us to get up and sit to another table. Then the two watier started to argue about it, but finally we had to move to the other table, which was an inconvenience right at the start. Our waitress was rather bored/grumpy during our whole stay. The food was okayish, however we got bread and cheese, but not olive oil, which was present at the other table. The bill contained 2*3 EUR bread and service fee which information was hidden at the bottom of the last page of the menu with 6pt font size. I feel this like a scam. The prices were expensive anyway, I would have been more pleased if I had the opportunity the choose rewarding the staff based on their performance, which was poor. I'm not whining about 6EUR, but rather the approach itself. I would just any other restaurant in the city.

Excellent food! Excellent service! We ordered the spaghetti carbonara and the T-bone steak. Both were excellent! The steak is huge and not cheap. With that being said I would still order the steak but it would be better to share with at least 4-5 people. It was too much food for 2 of us. Our waitress Rita and her colleagues were so attentive and so much fun! They really made the experience complete. I highly recommend this restaurant if in Volterra.

Perfect place for a romantic diner. Top quality, Great wines. Friendly staff, they organized everything as i requested per mail. An absolute ‘must go there’ when you are jn the Volterra region !!

We really enjoyed our meal here. There was a bit of confusion at first regarding our party (I think someone had called in for a party of 8 shortly before we got there and they thought we were them). Once that was sorted, our party of 6 was split into two groups and we sat out under an awning in the lane. It is set at the corner of two relatively quiet streets with a nice breeze on a hot day. Service was attentive and prompt. They were reluctant to take a credit card, but did when we didn't have enough cash. The negatives were minor. The important point is that they had a wide selection of traditional dishes from the area and everyone enjoyed what they ordered.

Lovely restaurant- friendly staff and delicious food and wine. Enjoyed the spaghetti carbonara - although the truffles cost extra - and a wonderful apple cake. Very pleasant.
