Stunning setting inside a natural cave, truly unique. However, the food felt inconsistent. Some creative dishes were great, but others lacked depth and flavor. Service was polite but sometimes lacked warmth and attentiveness. The slow, heavy classical music didn’t match the playful, colorful elements in some dishes, making the atmosphere feel too stiff. Overall, it’s a beautiful place for the view and setting, but for the high price, the dining experience didn’t fully meet expectations. A decent meal, but no real “wow” moment.

What a fun experience. Our waiter was knowledgeable and so friendly. Although the restaurant is quite elegant, the waiter made it fun. The food is out of this world. We did the wine pairing and enjoyed the yummy wines and the beautiful tasty food. Worth every penny!

A highly recommendable restaurant. We want to comments what made our visit less than 10/10. The service was notably overworked. They tried their best, but they were simply not enough. Wine pairing arrived after the dishes, and they were obviously stressed by the (unexpected many?) customers. Nevertheless we’d go there again if we ever come to Matera

Truly amazing restaurant. Great way to chose set menus with so many combinations and options. Fantastic service and elegant atmosphere. Each dish was a peace of art. Also very tasteful and well thought though. We will be back for sure!

Starting with the ambience, it was accurate. The way it is designed, the light, the feel was excellent. The staff was wonderful, welcoming, knowledgable, and super kind. And then the food, it really felt like each course is telling a story, took us through the chef's thinking and life experience, and it was simply exquisite and delicious. Really enjoyed the entire evening from beginning to the end.

A fantastic, gastronomic, and delicious experience awaited us at Vitantonio Lombardo restaurant. With great service, wonderful people; and the cave-themed ambiance follows the general Matera-sassi vibe. The welcome dish, consisted of five delicious bites served on a little model of the old part of the city. The sparkling white wine was particularly refreshing. The tagliolini was presented as "noodles for a brain", very creative. The seabass, may have been the best we've ever had. The pigeon breast and cherry was delicate and tasty. The Cigar for Mozart dessert came in a box with smoke and everything. And the kind servers made us feel at home. It was a perfect night!

Tasting menus are always interesting but what made it really unique is the fact you are able to select which dishes you’d like for each course. It is also highly recommended to do the wine pairing throughout as they have a lovely selection. The way they plate their dishes really elevates the experience and taste.

I’ve given up Michelin * restaurant these few years. But I was in one of the amazing city Matera and led me to this restaurant when I browsed Matera. To my surprise, the foods were amazing and I got the reservation by myself not by AE.

Very nice service, booked it for the atmosphere and possibility to eat i a cave. The food was not 10 out of 10. The black Pizza looked stunning but tasted very bland. The starters on the little caves tasted also quite normal. I loved the meat pork and also the dessert. I would not come back.
