Truly amazing restaurant. Great way to chose set menus with so many combinations and options. Fantastic service and elegant atmosphere. Each dish was a peace of art. Also very tasteful and well thought though. We will be back for sure!

Starting with the ambience, it was accurate. The way it is designed, the light, the feel was excellent. The staff was wonderful, welcoming, knowledgable, and super kind. And then the food, it really felt like each course is telling a story, took us through the chef's thinking and life experience, and it was simply exquisite and delicious. Really enjoyed the entire evening from beginning to the end.

A fantastic, gastronomic, and delicious experience awaited us at Vitantonio Lombardo restaurant. With great service, wonderful people; and the cave-themed ambiance follows the general Matera-sassi vibe. The welcome dish, consisted of five delicious bites served on a little model of the old part of the city. The sparkling white wine was particularly refreshing. The tagliolini was presented as "noodles for a brain", very creative. The seabass, may have been the best we've ever had. The pigeon breast and cherry was delicate and tasty. The Cigar for Mozart dessert came in a box with smoke and everything. And the kind servers made us feel at home. It was a perfect night!

Tasting menus are always interesting but what made it really unique is the fact you are able to select which dishes you’d like for each course. It is also highly recommended to do the wine pairing throughout as they have a lovely selection. The way they plate their dishes really elevates the experience and taste.

I’ve given up Michelin * restaurant these few years. But I was in one of the amazing city Matera and led me to this restaurant when I browsed Matera. To my surprise, the foods were amazing and I got the reservation by myself not by AE.

Very nice service, booked it for the atmosphere and possibility to eat i a cave. The food was not 10 out of 10. The black Pizza looked stunning but tasted very bland. The starters on the little caves tasted also quite normal. I loved the meat pork and also the dessert. I would not come back.

The environment is break-taking and magical. The service is one of the best I have ever had! Every detail was attended to. The food was so creative and delicious. The chef is so talented. Can’t wait till I can come back again. Is an experience we will remember for life!

It’s amazing to have such a high quality restaurant in a place , like Matera, known 40 years ago as “ the shame of Italy” (since it was extremely poor and dirty). Nevertheless, I think we should have the flexibility as a couple to decide a dish for each person, it’s impossible for one person to have a fish, and for the other to have meat.

The little restaurant is very charming. Very nice sitting in front of the kitchen. Good service , the team was very welcoming and well trained. We tried the set menu in 5 courses with wine pairing. Overall it’s a nice experience, really loved the appetizers and the pasta with lobster. The risotto was nice also. The last kiss was an experience on his own but as a dessert it didn’t meat our expectations. Overall we have ok wine but no Wahouuuu effect except the Italian Chardonnay and the dessert wine. I guess that’s for the price of the wine pairing I would have expect better options. As a general comment I would say that we are happy to discovered this place but it might be a bit pricy for a one star Michelin and more important I’m missing the one dish that made this place special.
