4.5/10Beware! Service is pretty terrible. Also - after we paid on our card, they tipped an additional $40 on the card. We had to report them to our credit card company.

For your reservation, a €20 prepayment was made, which was fully deducted from your final dinner bill. No additional amount was charged beyond the agreed total at the time of payment. After carefully reviewing our records, we can confirm that no $40 transaction or tip was added to your card. Moreover, with our payment system, it is technically not possible to add any charge or tip after a card payment has been completed. If you believe there is still an incorrect charge, we kindly ask that you share proof of the alleged $40 transaction (such as a card statement or transaction screenshot), so we can investigate this matter further with complete transparency. 10/10This is the fourth time in successive years here and it just keeps getting better. The service is excellent along with the cleanliness but the food is superb. A great selection on the menu plus outstanding quality. Overall its fantastic venue which is a delight to visit. Thank you for such an amazing experience again

9/10Nice food and service was good enough if not a little chaotic but it was full. I think it is probably a little pricey for what you get but it is central Amsterdam. Enjoyed the meal and would go again

10/10Incredible restaurant. The food and service was amazing. I eat in restaurants all over the world and Ashoka offers the best Indian cuisine I’ve ever had. The service was impeccable and thoughtful. I will return every time I visit Amsterdam.

6.5/10The taste was below average. I’ve tried Indian food in many countries and it was always good, except this time. The biryani had nothing to do with the usual biryani; it was just rice with some tomato sauce, and the chicken had a strange taste.

5/10I’m from the UK and I am Indian, so I eat, cook and get cooked a lot of Indian food. This was not authentic in the slightest. Firstly they give you the drinks menu separately so you order a drink and they take their time bringing the food menu. Nice ploy. The mixed platter was unbelievably bland and overpriced. Then with the mains, overpriced for the size of the portion. The chicken karahi was obviously sweeter, as the colour wasn’t dark so you could already tell there was a lot of tomato in it. The chicken wasn’t cooked in the sauce, they were chicken tikka pieces so it’s not a karahi. We asked it for a spicy Punjabi level and the waitress didn’t understand. The dal tarka was okay, but nothing special. The naan was salted, but again, small naan pieces for the price you pay. In tbe UK, you can get a family naan which is huge. The portions are bigger and cheaper. The waitress received our feedback but did not speak to the chef or manager for us. Very disappointed.
