Our visit to Bistro Bonjour was a complete surprise, and a pleasant one Of that. We had been looking for a quality restaurant with excellent food at a great price In the Utrechtesstraat area, and by chance selected Cafe Bonjour because of their menus online, which were older but seemed the kind of food we like. We made an online reservation easily, and then arrived to find a charming little restaurant just off Keizergracht. The restaurant was perfect in many respects, romantic without being false, totally in line with its French cuisine without serving those tiny portions that many French restaurants do. The many offered lots of choices, both hot/cold, meat/seafood and multiple great sounding deserts. The staff was attentive without rushing you, and the food when served was high quality and extremely tasty! Plus it all came at a price that made you think you were having the meal 3-4 years ago! It was a bargain. Check it out, you won’t be Sorry!

The waitstaff was so friendly and kind. The food was wonderful. As is typical of French restaurants, there was a lengthy wait for the entrees, but they were worth it. I had veal medallions with Roquefort sauce and my companion had Entrecôte which she greatly enjoyed. Both plates were served with vegetables which were cooked perfectly.

The efficient team servicing many customers does a good job of taking care of customers needs. The menu contains choices for any palate. My meal of onion soup, steak poivre, tiramisu and house red wine was the nicest meal I’ve had after 2weeks traveling Paris, Bruge and now Amsterdam. Highly recommended this restaurant!!

I recommend this restaurant if you have a spare 2-3 h to eat the soup and main dish. The chicken was tasty, while the salmon came raw in the middle and the waitress told us it was on purpose. I am already leaving aside the unpleasant behaviour of the staff after asking why we are waiting so long.

The kitchen staff could use some training in possible cross contamination and personal hygiene while handling food. With that said, the food wasn't bad.
