While we were there, the staff was lazy. We sat down at 7 (while our booking was for 8) outside having drinks. We ordered and the staff didn't tell us our order was not included in the discount from thefork. He first tried to pull a fast one, giving us the bill without the discount from thefork. We asked for the discount. They gave us the discount only on 2 products. We were ordering food in from of the waiter and he did not tell us our order was not included in the discount. We politely asked the server to check thefork's menu with us to show him what it said. He refused and became hostile so we told him we wouldn't pay that bill and that we would call the police. He became aggressive and hostile once again. He started to attack my intelligence and logic following abilities. He started to escalate in a table full of lawyers. Horrible.

My recent visit to Contrabando left me with mixed feelings. Despite having made a reservation, I was seated outside, which was unexpected. While I understand the constraints faced by restaurants, clearer communication about seating arrangements would have been appreciated. Unfortunately, the service fell short of expectations. Our server seemed overwhelmed and inattentive, resulting in delays in taking our orders and receiving our food. Disappointingly, the dishes arrived after a long wait, indicating issues with kitchen coordination. On the positive side, the menu offered a variety of Mexican dishes, albeit with mixed results in terms of flavor and presentation. While some dishes were enjoyable, others lacked finesse and authenticity. In conclusion, my experience at was somewhat disappointing. Despite the pleasant outdoor ambiance, the cold service and inconsistent food quality detracted from the overall dining experience.

We choose this restaurant for a nice Friday night dinner because we know the food is usually good. We got the table downstairs in front of the toilet and very close to the main door, which was constantly open hence it was very cold. I asked the waiter if we can move table upstairs ( where I used to sit before, also 2 people) he said no, there are no 2 people places upstairs. I was surprised, so when the other waiter came asking me if I'm ok (all this time sitting with my coat and scarf on) I was like well is super cold here, could we change table or at least close the door. At this point a guy comes up to me saying he is the "gerente" and i can ask as many people I want, there Will be no other table for us, also because we just booked 1.5 hours before so he does not understand why I complain so much. I told him because is cold and we choose to come to a restaurant and not eat outdoors with the cold. He offered me a cup of margarita to warm me up. Nevertheless the food also got cold in like 3 min after it got on the table and we had to eat with our coat on. Some other couples left next to us because of the same reason. Last but not least 5 min after we finished the food they put the bill on the table, we did not even ask for it. Worse customer service and the gerente should take some trainings how to deal with people.

Very nice place. First time I came for lunch. Much better than dinner. Less people and no need to wait too much for food. Food was very tasty. The only bad point I would say is the tap water for 4 euros. At least a closed bottle would be more professional.

Although I have been to this restaurant several times and have enjoyed it, this last time was one of the worst! Only a few hours before the reservation, the restaurant sent an sms to inform they wouldn't accept cards as a method of payment but they had the ATM available... Besides that, the plates for starters were dirty and we had to request they be changed. Moreover, the bill was brought to us without us requesting it, which was unpleasant and straight after we paid, we still hadn't even gotten up and the waiter just frantically started to remove everything from the table!

The ambiance is awesome, but the food is horrible. One problem could be that the menu is 'all over the place". If you are a "Mexican restaurant", focus on Mexican foods, not chicken and waffles and SUSHI!!

We ordered starters explicating to the waitress that we wanted them before the main dishes, but at the end they served all together ???? The food was good but we couldn’t appreciate all the taste, because it was too much served jointly and some of them became cold. The BBQ ribs was horrible, too dry! I would recommend burgers and tacos, delicious ????

The ambiance of the restaurant was great, with good music playing in the background, that still allows customers to talk to each other. The food was great, especially the entrées, they were simply delicious, we had the ContraBando Combo!

The food is good but not extraordinary, although some of our plates came fast there was one exception that damaged the reputation of the restaurant, it took more than 45 minutes to arrive a plate that’s not even cooked. Beside that a nice experience.
