4/10This place had been recommended & so we hoped for a good evening. Sadly that didn't happen. Sat for twenty minutes before we were asked for drinks, food was very ordinary, overcooked rice, not enough sauce & dry chicken. Gaspacho was ok but not enough seasoning. Service very poor, no attention to detail

10/10Spectacular seafood dishes, amazing flavours. We shared from the whet your appetite range, Portuguese chorizos, fried shrimp, clams in olive oil,mussels and a bowl of fish chowder. Staff were excellent. Very highly recommended.

8.5/10Excellent small restaurant that is unaffected by its location in a "tourist" spot. Serves good Portuguese food with very friendly and helpful staff. Ambience was really good as the restaurant was full but it was not too loud.

10/10We ate early and had the place to ourselves until a family arrived a little later. Staff were attentive and friendly (and family friendly), the food was fresh and tasty, the wine list was varied with something for everyone at a range of prices, the ambience was that of a cosy, well-established family restaurant that was a refuge from the busy tourist traffic happening just outside on the streets. Well worth visiting.

10/10Was recommended and it did not disappoint! We had just returned from a 5 day motorcycle trip through Southern Spain. We had one day in Lisbon before my guests had to return home. We stopped here and had an amazing meal! I live part time in Portugal but it was the first visit for the other three. All of them said it was the best meal of the trip!!

10/10This is our second time and it was better than we remembered! Everything was just delicious from the bread, the dipping oil to the octopus salad, gazpacho and tomato soup and mains. Two of us had the grouper, which was perfect and my husband had the steak in a delicious sauce. Even his fries were great. The service is efficient and warm. The prices are reasonable, too.

10/10Beautiful location to start with (just by Miradouro de Santa Luzia) . Friendly attentive staff who explains everything and gives advice about the wine. Delicious food , if you like clamps you definitely need to take the Ameijoa à Bolhão Pato appetiser here , it’s heavenly good. I absolutely recommend this restaurant.

10/10Excellent food and service at this restaurant serving traditional Portuguese food. We had the cataplana which was really tasty and packed full of fish and seafood. Reasonably priced too. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. I would suggest booking in advance as it seems to be a popular spot

About this restaurant
Truly Portuguese, the Farol de Santa luzia is open since 1974, between Alfama and the Castle right in front of viewpoint of Santa Luzia. This is a cozy and traditional space with rustic look, which serves the main dishes of traditional Portuguese cuisine. Housed in a building dating from the eighteenth century, it preserves the aura that gives charisma to the restaurant.
