First, the views and this restaurant itself are beautiful. The service is also wonderful, with the shuttle service from Varenna to the very attentive wait staff. Finally, the food was absolutely fantastic! We did the tasting menu with wine pairing and could not recommend all of it enough. Just when we thought there wasn’t a great restaurant on Como we found this one last minute and wow we were glad we did.

Great food in a beautiful setting. The staff go above and beyond to make sure every guest has a memorable experience. We were concerned about how to get to the restaurant, and were offered a complimentary shuttle from the Varenna ferry terminal. The food is well worth the trip up to Vezio. Service, food quality, and setting were excellent

We expected a quality dining experience for the prices charged, but it was disappointing from start to finish. We arrived at 8:45 pm and only received the “welcome bite” at 9:40 pm – and it was identical to one of our starters (burrata with tomatoes). The most serious issue was the handling of a severe garlic allergy: we had clearly stated it when booking and repeated it when ordering, yet the waitress had no idea which dishes were safe. After checking, the kitchen confirmed all preparations already contained garlic, meaning the only option left was plain tagliolini with butter. At the end, they lied to our faces claiming they hadn’t received the allergy info, even though we saw it was showing on their tablet. Service was slow, the food was unremarkable, and in terms of quality or creativity, far better (and cheaper) options are available nearby. As an Italian, I can honestly say it felt like a tourist scam – these dishes are not worth this price.
