The waiter took our order and returned to say, they didn't have what we wanted . So obviously we had to reorder. My napkin had faint lipstick on it which was a turnoff. Staff were excellent.

The service was very slow and our order was not taken for over 30 minutes after we arrived. The music was way too loud and we couldn’t hear each other speak. But the food was the worst part of the whole experience. The food was cold and tasted terrible. None of us finished our meals. This was the worst meal we had on our trip to Lake Como and it was very expensive. Save your money and go somewhere else.

It was our anniversary and we wanted a special night… and it was exceptional! The friendliness and attentiveness of the staff was impeccable, the service was amazing, the food was outstanding and ambiance/views were gorgeous! We requested a patio table and they sat is right by the railing, overlooking the water at sunset. Sometimes, you go to a place with great food, but the view is lacking, and sometimes it’s a great view with not as good food. THIS is the best of BOTH!!! Highly recommend for a romantic night! Also, the aperitivos are amazing!!!

The location is great, but it all goes downhill from there. The main waitress, or whoever she thought she was, was rude & condescending. The young waiter was nice. The food was pretentious & small portions. The cheapest wine, which isn’t advertised on the fork menu, was £50 a bottle & we were made to feel cheap ordering it. As well as a cover charge of £10 they tried to add a tip of £16. On the whole we had better meals, with a better atmosphere, in cafe type bars around the area for half the price & with friendly staff. Only booked as we were arriving that day & you could book online. Would steer well clear. £179 for a shared starter, 2 pasta dishes, a shared pudding & a bottle of wine

The view of the lake was spectacular! We had drinks and snacks in the bar area ahead of time. That was wonderful! However, the main course dishes were not so great.

We had a final dinner in Varenna. Perfect location and view of the lake. Delicious menu and choices that pleased all family members. Accommodating staff.

It was my wife Suzanne’s birthday, and although we did not let the staff of Ristorante Casa Du Lac know this, they treated us as if we were celebrating a milestone. The staff were attentive and a pleasure to chat to. We had an amazing experience
