10/10Service was excellent, we had 5 course tasting menu and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed each course. Beautiful plating, sauces were exceptional, and the wine pairings were spot on.

9.5/10Food is absolutely incredible. It was the best fois gras I’ve ever had. Even the classic dishes have a creative twist. I happened to be there on an extremely busy night, and the restaurant is fully packed. The staff were trying their best to serve everyone but was a bit understaffed

7/10I had high hopes based on past reviews but my experience was only ok. The service and ambiance were as expected but the food was nothing special, especially for the price, which is on the high side.

We must admit that your review stands in stark contrast to the overwhelming majority of feedback we receive — which consistently highlights the precision of our flavors and the high quality of our cuisine. That said, your review omits important context. From the moment you arrived, both you and "your guest" displayed disrespectful behavior toward our team — mocking our servers and speaking to them inappropriately. You demanded “the best table” based on an email you allegedly sent, which we never received — did you truly send it? It’s difficult not to read your review as a form of retaliation for not being given what you considered a “prestigious” seat. If your visit was merely a performance to impress your "companion", perhaps it would be wise to refine your palate before reviewing restaurants of this standard. We take pride in our work, and while we accept constructive criticism, your comment — lacking any nuance or substance — says more about your intentions than about your experience. Sincerely, Margot

10/10This gem, located on Ile St Louis, is a sensational dining experience! We are so lucky to have stumbled across it after our Notre Dame visit (the mostly pedestrian cobblestone island is located just behind it). The meticulous attention to detail of every course is experienced with every bite. The big highlights were the melt in your mouth Turbot (white fish) and Cerf frotté (steak). The desserts are a work of art - true mouthwatering masterpieces of creativity. I hesitate to share this review because it feels like a beautifully designed neighborhood secret. Everyone spoke French around us, and it felt like we discovered a hidden treasure.

6/10This is the second time at Le Sergent Recruteur (prior dinner in 2014). We went for lunch on 12/7/24 and Chef Alain Pegouret created lovely haute dishes. The food was divine. However the experienced stopped there ... having 2 servers sweating like bullets, barely holding it together and plopping our food down (no after dinner coffee or drinks or anything but the check?) ... was subpar. I am sorry they were short-staffed that day, I am sorry the Notre-Dame opening caused chaos around the city that weekend, I am sorry we had high expectations as were repeat customers, but the atmosphere in 2014 was lovely, delicious and fun with a depth of flavors and this was a borderline shit-show getting the food from the kitchen to the table. Chef Pegouret needs to review his whole package .... our experience at FIEF was fun as was Kei (a whole other level), but we are going to pass on encouraging our friends from visiting Le Sergent Recruteur and it will not be on our next stop in Paris.
