Wonderful ambience- just what you’d expect in Paris……..however, the steaks were almost inedible! Way too tough, could barely get my fork into it. Gratin potatoes and wine were excellent. However you like your steaks, go up one level! I ordered medium rare and it came rare. They cooked it a bit more upon request, but it was still tough to get thru. Just wish the food was as awesome as the ambience

This place is a little gem on Ile Saint Louis, and we have dined there a number of times. As the saying goes, only the mediocre are at their best all the time. This most recent dinner was not at the top of the kitchen’s game. The escargot were outstanding. The frites and sauce that were served with the salmon were both excellent, but the salmon itself seemed a little mushy. And I found my chicken a little bit on the dry side, personally. Please don’t let this dissuade you from coming to this restaurant. We have had many many fine meals there, and we will return. It’s just the night that we happened to be there did not display the kitchen’s effort in its best light. Also, by way of calibration, these were good solid B-level meals. But we have come to expect more. I’m sure that next time, they’ll be back at the top of their game. And it is quite a charming place to dine.

We went twice to this restaurant during a 7-day stay i Paris. The location is perfect, the ambiance was spectacular, the food is excellent, and everyone works hard to make the experience personal and the best. I truly do not have enough superlatives.

We returned here after first dining a year ago on a previous trip. It is a quintessential French restaurant. Small, charming, in a historic building and delicious food. The service is generally 1 man running the show, but he did a great job and was quite charming as well. The fois gras was outstanding on top of a fruit compote. My Beef Bourgogne was also delicious. We will be back

We arrived to a lovely warm welcome from Leo. The ambiance is so chic and your ears fill with French songs. The champagne kick started us. Snails amd Beef Bouginine were just delicious. We chatted with the chef. It was such and engaging experience. We celebrated 2 birthdays and if far surpassed expectations. Superb and we will be back🇫🇷👏🏻🇫🇷 Thank you very much!!!

I have been visiting this restaurant for about 8 years, everytime I’ve come to Paris! Tonight is my last. As always the beef with Bernaise sauce was fabulous, but the potatoes were inedible. They used to be the creamy best. The waitstaff tonight was beyond incredibly rude. I asked if he had WiFi and he turned his back and walked away. Later he came back and lectured me in a loud voice that I was supposed to say please sir do you have WiFi and please may I use it (which I was actually going to say once he told me he had it). He never once came back to ask if our meal was satisfactory , whether we wanted dessert or anything else. The whole experience was horrifying. sad as it is, I am done with this restaurant and certainly will never again recommend it to friends, as I have many times over the years! Two thumbs down and I never write bad restaurant reviews.

I had not been to L'Ilot Vache for a couple of years so I was interested to see what had changed. Located on an Island in the Seine,I had fond memories of my previous visits for dinner and I am pleased to confirm it still has the same unique charm and fantastic food. Last Saturday, our party of six enjoyed starters, main courses and desserts along with Champagne, white and red wine. The menu is principally for meat lovers but there is something for everyone. The service was a little sloppy and inattentive... the place is small, so catching a waiter's eye shouldn't be a problem. Having placed our order for starters and main courses I was left with the wine list... it took 15 minutes before I was able to order any wine and our starters arrived just before wine did. The front of house staff (all 3) were restocking the bar and oblivious to my needs. Our white wine was barely cool and had to be chilled in an ice bucket. By the time it was cold enough our main courses had arrived, we were now brilliantly out of sync. I know in France white wine is not served so cold but had I ordered sooner we might have been ahead of the game. Our waiter was nice and jovial and explained they were down a member of staff. Fair enough. That said, one of the 3 staff working (I am guessing the manager/owner) was really just entertaining his friends with drinks and conversation. I fear for the future of the business! I have seen this before and wonder if L'Ilot Vache will still be there when I return in the future.

I had returned to L'Ilot Vache after many years and it is still a wonderful restaurant. Small, intimate service and wonderful classic food. The chocolate mousse is still memorable as the best in the world.
