10/10I don't usually write reviews, but I wanted to write this one to personally thank Paulo and his team for the care, kindness and overall service level provided to me and my girlfriend last friday. I told them and I would like to repeat it here: I've been to michelin star restaurants where the service wasn't as good. Maybe they were more careful with the position of the forks, but not with how happy we were with the experience. Thanks again! Pedro

6/10I've visited this restaurant before and found it to be a solid choice with good quality and service. This time, I booked a table and later informed that their usual menu had been temporarily replaced from 22 June to 6 July by a seafood-focused selection. Since I love seafood and had positive memories of the place, I decided to keep the reservation. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. The goose barnacle had an unpleasant taste and smell, and the scallop ceviche left the scallops tasting flat and bland. The crab with avocado could’ve been promising, but the salmon roe topping tasted artificial. When I mentioned the poor quality of the goose barnacles, the staff were understanding and removed the item from the bill. So I do appreciate their responsiveness. That said, I wouldn't recommend visiting until the regular menu returns after 6 July.

That said, we believe your review is quite unfair. We use only fresh, high-quality products, and our seafood menu — clearly communicated in advance — was designed to highlight some of the best in Portuguese gastronomy. It’s unfortunate that you didn’t give the menu a fair chance, nor try the starters that reflect our culinary standards. While we respect personal taste, discouraging others from visiting feels unjust and doesn’t reflect the care and dedication we put into everything we serve. We’d love to welcome you again — either after July 6th when our regular menu returns, or sooner if you'd like to explore the non-seafood options we also offer.

10/10From cocktails to dessert, this was an amazing meal presented with finesse. The flavours were complex and complimentary; none were overwhelming or out of place. Presentation was artistic. Pacing was excellent.

9.5/10I’m so happy that my friend and I found this place through the Michelin guide app. Samantha took care of us that evening and she is an absolute delight and extremely knowledgeable about the cuisine. Both my friend and I opted for the “surprise me“ DEGUSTACION 6 courses and we highly recommend it! We also had a small selection for a wine pairing (about 3 wines each) which was a fabulous addition. Our highlights: Cod in curry with black eyed peas and cornbread crumbles. Ahi Tuna tartlet with pickled mustard seeds and avocado puree, Original Portuguese pot stickers in a light broth with micro-diced turnip also, hands-down, the best single pork rib we have ever tasted. Honestly, I could go on and on just try it for yourself. You are sure to be delighted with every course.

7/10I’ve been to Zunzum several times before and always enjoyed it, but this latest visit was a real let-down. The staff seemed disinterested and the service throughout was poor. We asked twice for our drinks, nothing complicated – one beer and two Cokes – but they didn’t arrive until the main courses were served. We’d also ordered the couvert for the whole table at the start, but it never arrived. When I followed up, I was abruptly told it was coming, yet several tables who arrived after us were served their bread and olives while we continued to wait. It finally turned up after we’d finished eating, so we had to send it back. I also dropped my knife and it took several minutes and multiple attempts to get a replacement, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. I really don’t like leaving negative reviews, especially for places I’ve had great meals in before, but the lack of attention and care this time was disappointing. Hopefully it was just an off day.
